Peterborough, MAY 16th, 2019 — Indie developer D’Avekki Studios has today announced their next FMV videogame release will be a spin-off of 2018’s The Shapeshifting Detective entitled ‘Dark Nights with Poe and Munro’.

Intended for release later this year on PC and consoles, Dark Nights with Poe and Munro will see actors Klemens Koehring and Leah Cunard reprise their roles as John ‘Poe’ Pope and Ellis Munro, the late night radio hosts from the creepy town of August. The game will comprise six self-contained episodes, featuring 100% Full Motion Video with branching narrative and supernatural themes. Set just before The Shapeshifting Detective, ‘Dark Nights’ will be a standalone game and won’t require players to have played its predecessor.

“Having six episodes really gives us the opportunity to unleash several of our stories at once, whilst keeping them full of meaningful choices and replayability,” says D’Avekki Studios producer Lynda Cowles. “We’re also thrilled to work with Klemens and Leah again, who have committed to a longer term relationship with our studio this time, allowing us to develop more projects with them in the future.”

The Shapeshifting Detective was published in November 2018 on PC, Xbox, Playstation and Nintendo Switch by Wales Interactive, and was D’Avekki Studios’ second release. Their first game, the critically acclaimed and Guinness World Record breaking ‘The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker’, will be enjoying a physical release courtesy of Limited Run Games tomorrow (May 17th 2019). D’Avekki Studios fourth planned game, Pocket Dreadfuls, is currently in development and scheduled for release after ‘Dark Nights with Poe and Munro’.

Husband-and-wife firm D’Avekki Studios is based in Wisbech, UK and has been making best-selling murder mystery dinner party games since 2004. More recently, it achieved critical success with FMV titles The Infectious Madness of Doctor Dekker and The Shapeshifting Detective.

Happy Gaming!
