Ages of Ilathid

Hi all, I hope it is ok that I started another thread with yet another question. So i stumbled upon some old game project called
Ages of Ilathid inspired by Myst and the youtube trailers look quite good. But I am not able to get any definite info whether this project has
been cancelled or not. It is super-old and it looks like it is canceled because the newest youtube trailer is from 2011 and all google search results
point to pages older than 2009 and all links I tried direct to asian websites which do not look like a game dev sites at all.
Also their facebook page has no posts after 2012 or so.
Does by any chance anybody know for sure this project is dead, so that I can put it off my watch list?

I have a list Here of games still in the works just confirmed recently. I delete when I am told by a developer says they quit or some news article says it's dead. I don't see it on the list and the website has been taken over by Chinese. I'd say it's dead.

Thank you, Mike. We may not be the flashiest but we try and make sure everyone gets treated well and news gets posted as soon as possible. The staff here is tremendous and I am very grateful for them.

Too bad about Ilathid.
I volunteered to test it some years ago.
At that point it was little more than an alpha.
You couldn't really do anything with it, just click around and look at things a bit.
There is more to Myst than 1st person point-and-click graphics.

Still, I'd been hoping to be able to play Ilathid some day and I'm sorry to hear that it won't be completed.

regarading the list of games currently in development (you posted a link above), I have one question, maybe you know the answer, it is about the entry

The Last Crown: Haunting of Hallowed Isle

is listed there, but it is not listed on the site the link points to (darkling website)
I see 'Silent Night' instead. So that means either there are 3 Last Crown games currently
in production (Blackenrock, Silent Night and Hallowed Isle) OR Hallowed Isle was renamed to Silent Night.

Do you by any chance know what is true here? If the first one is true, I don't understand why they do not
list Hallowed Isle as well there - they seem to list all other not completed games, so why not that one as well?

Update: Also, Jonathan's first game, 'The Displacement' is not available anywhere, right? You need to be a friend
of Jonathan to get the chance to play this game, right?

Update2: Also the Darkling Room website still has the mistake to call Dark Fall 3 the 'fourth isntallement' of the Dark Fall series ;-)
They should correct it, it is confusing for newbies.

I don't know the answers to your questions but I would have thought the best place to get answers would be from someone at the Website itself ??

Mike, the website updating isn't their main priority right now and they have had a busy year. They are currently looking for additional help in getting the games completed quicker.

Hallowed Isle, Silent Night and Blackenrock are all three different games.

The Displacement is available free with the purchase of Dark Fall: Ghost Vigil from their website http://www.shadowtor.com/store

Argh, I bought the game Ghost Vigil on Steam where 'The Displacement' was not included, I think :-(
Anyway, thanks for the infos, Ana. Of course it is up to them how they set their priorities. If I were in their place,
I would do it. Changing the word 'fourth' to 'third' on a website is a matter of a few minutes and If you want to advertize
your products, correct info's are important, imo. I like the fact that they are looking for additional help to finish their games quicker, though.
It would be great if they would get one more game released before christmas.

Ana, I found this sold thread were you mentioned that Hallowed Isle, Silent Night and Blackenrock are all three different games.
Do you by any chance what the planned order of release is? Do I understand correctly that in terms of story , the game build upon each other,
so that only one specific order of releasing the games is possible? If I remember correctly, Silent Night is planned to be the first of these three?

Not sure about Hallowed Isle, but Jonathan Boakes has stated recently that Silent Night will be released first this year, followed by Blackenrock.

To be honest, I'm not going to post what I know of the order of planned releases since much of what I know is told to me in confidence because I am friends of theirs. Since Jonathon enjoys writing new twists and indepth stories, things change mid development and branch out into things. He's quite the creative genius and as we all can see, he will use his creative freedom to do as he chooses until it's ready to be released. I respect that in him and admire that he stays true to himself and not just throwing something out there to silence the masses. That said, Silent Night is the next release and is almost ready for prime time! There will be a release shortly!
