About Lucy Dreaming
Lucy Dreaming is an old school point & click adventure game heavily inspired by writer and developer Tom Hardwidge's childhood love of LucasArts classics like Monkey Island, and British comedies such as Blackadder and Monty Python. It takes you on a humorous journey through fantastical dream worlds and cold, hard reality to discover the cause of a young girl's recurring nightmares

Murder, nightmares, weasels and a heavy dose of sarcasm await all who visit the small British town of Figgington where Lucy and her family are at the centre of a decade-old mystery. From the local pub and run-down corner shop to the imaginative, surreal dreamscapes inside Lucy’s head, the nostalgic pixel art is like a warm hug from the past, with oodles of detail, 90s pop-culture and terrible puns.

Hop on your bike and use your map to navigate every corner of this strange and backward town as you attempt to unearth the truth behind Lucy’s disturbing nightmares and discover the dark secrets hidden in her subconscious. Along the way you’ll meet a cast of extraordinary characters who emerge from the depths of Lucy’s imagination, and solve a huge variety of puzzles that span both dreams and reality. So pour yourself a nice cup of tea and bring your powers of observation, logic and lateral thinking (just don’t forget your teddy bear).

Lucy Dreaming is available for Windows, MacOS and Linux via Steam and Itch.io, and also for Android and iOS via Google Play and the Apple App Store. It is fully voiced in English with both English and German subtitles.

Starring Dominic Armato
What began as a dream to have the voice of Guybrush Threepwood himself play a role in his own adventure game became reality when Tom and his wife Emma nervously approached Dominic and he said “yes”. Dominic was keen to return to voice acting too.

“People tell me they don’t understand why I haven’t worked on other games over the past decade,” Dominic explains. “The truth is, nobody asked! I was thrilled that Tom and Emma were able to make it happen. And a quirky love letter to graphic adventures like Lucy Dreaming felt like just the right opportunity to jump back in.”

Now a successful dining critic, Dominic didn’t realise at the time that his former career was about to be reignited, and took to Twitter to confirm that he didn’t even know about Return to Monkey Island when Tall Story Games approached him back in 2021.

Tom Hardwidge says
“It was a dream come true when Dom agreed to get involved in the game. We wrote a character especially for him, inspired by his career as a dining critic. It’s been amazing to work with someone who is so much a part of adventure game history and my own childhood.”

Dominic isn’t the only celebrity to make it into the game, after generously backing the Kickstarter campaign with a strictly limited “Become a character” reward, German YouTuber Gronkh landed a starring role as an NPC, and is integral to one of the game’s more complex puzzles.

I'm a couple hours into Lucy Dreaming. It seems most of the first nightmare is a kind of tutorial...you need to accomplish tasks to move on your way. After you finish these, the story becomes richer and there's a murder to solve! I am enjoying it now. It looks to be fairly long. I'm about 2-1/2 hours in and at the start of the second nightmare...and I believe there are five nightmares total. It is fully voiced and is a mix of inventory puzzles with other puzzle types thrown in here and there for good measure. There is some funny dialogue and wry commentary that balances a kind of dark view of the quirky town and life.
