Firmament is a steampunk visual feast with thrilling new sights to see around every corner, which can be seen in both standard screen and VR. Explore three Realms of Firmament, each with secrets and mysteries to reveal, in this puzzle adventure featuring deep storytelling and rich world-building. What purpose do these seemingly abandoned Realms serve? What are the giant, mysterious machines scattered throughout the world? And can you trust the apparition who accompanies you on your journey?

Game Features

Explore a Fantastical Steampunk World: Firmament invites you to explore the legendary deep world-building Cyan is known for. It is a fantastic steampunk visual feast with thrilling new sights to see around every corner. At the same time, its world feels completely plausible, as though it were constructed with a bigger purpose in mind…

Solve Puzzles With a Silent Companion: The Adjunct, a helpful clockwork companion, will help you solve puzzles. It doesn’t speak, but it understands you and your hand gestures – together, you’ll form a vocabulary of gestures that will help you solve challenges together and understand the epic nature of what lies ahead.

Journey With an Apparition: You are also joined by a mysterious apparition with a story of her own. This apparition appeared with a message from the woman that left you The Adjunct. She planned to mentor you, but something has gone terribly wrong. Can the spirit be trusted?

Reveal a Realms-Spanning Mystery: Are the realms of Firmament abandoned? What are these giant, mysterious machines scattered throughout the world? What is their purpose? What part do you play in this grand mystery? Seek and uncover the answers for yourself.

Built for both 2D and VR Displays: Firmament supports both 2D and VR play. The VR experience includes Free Roam and Teleport modes and supports Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Rift S, and Quest 2 via Oculus Link. There are also many “comfort level” features, such as enabling smooth or snap turning, quick travel up stairs and ladders, vertical height quantization, and more!

Happy Gaming!

Glad to see we will playing Firmament next month. Been looking forward to this one. Gonna be releasing on Steam and GOG believe it or not. There are quite a few videos of Firmament on Cyan's YouTube and Google. There is an "Early Demo Playthrough" and this "In-Progress Footage" to check out. Now, if set up for, one has to decide whether to play the Standard version or the VR version. Nice choice to have

Thank you Ana!

Thanks BrownEyedTigre for the heads up, always appreciate You for keeping us in the loop.

But WOW, the Specs, even the Minimum Specs, WOW, looks like it will be at least another 5 years before I can play this game.

So again thanks for the heads up and for those of you who have the Horsepower to play this game, I hope you enjoy it.

Here is a statement regarding the specs:

Hey Friends!
Firmament is a visually demanding game and we know system requirements can be intimidating. With that in mind we want to address some concerns surrounding minimum and recommended specifications to avoid confusion and disappointment. 💙
The recommended specs are NOT a requirement for you to have a great experience playing Firmament!
When launched, Firmament will set graphic and performance levels that guarantee a high-fidelity experience at high resolutions or in VR. We set the benchmark high to ensure a stellar and performant visual experience for our most demanding fans!
But rest assured, we’ve designed Firmament to look and perform great even at the minimum specs! 💙
System requirement information can be found here:

GOG: bit.ly/3KJJjoN

Re: Firmament Release Date Trailer - 04/21/23 06:14 PM

Thanks for the info BrownEyedTiger, good to know for those who meet the minimum specs. can enjoy playing this game, a future game for me which is OK, gives me time to play the games I already have plus those I will buy in the near future in which the minimum specs meet my puny laptop's requirement.
Have a great week end everyone.

Re: Firmament Release Date Trailer - 04/24/23 12:24 AM

There were two occassions on which I used a Myst game as an excuse to upgrade. Maybe I can use it again grin

Re: Firmament Release Date Trailer - 04/24/23 04:16 PM

If that doesn't sound so familiar flotsam. I have done the same, not so much with a Myst game, but other games. My 24" All-in-One Win 10 computer has a integrated video card. I would be surprised if it will handle Firmament. To this day I don't understand why I got it. BIG mistake. Won't happen again.

I have beefed up my Win 7 computer to the max where I could and finally had to install a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 12GB. Hopefully I'll be able to run the game on it. For awhile now I have wanted a good laptop. Don't know if you might upgrade to a laptop or a tower but check these computers out at NVIDIA. These are very nice and might be of interest to you if you do decide TO upgrade. They have my attention:

Laptops

Desktops

A good thing about my Win 7 is I have my VR setup on it. It also runs on a 65" TV so the wife and I can play games together. I need to get another VR setup though to run the game in VR. It's a Steam Gen 1 and is not a very good headset anymore. Lets spend more money while we are at it huh.....

Hope you get it figured out so you can run Firmament. It looks great!

Re: Firmament Release Date Trailer - 04/24/23 09:18 PM

Orion, I hope I am wrong but it seems that Firmament will only run on the Minimum = Windows 10, but hopefully for your sake it will also run on W7.

Re: Firmament Release Date Trailer - 04/25/23 01:16 PM

I hope it will run on my WIN 7 too Starcom. For the heck of it I will first try it out on my Win 10, failing there, and then the Win 7. I have run other games that were Win 10 minimums and they ran just fine on the Win 7 so I guess we will see. If it does not run there I will finally upgrade. I am gonna play Firmament one way or the other

Those games with the Win 10 minimums I played/started on the W7 were Charon's Staircase and Colossal Cave

Re: Firmament Release Date Trailer - 05/15/23 01:32 AM

Only 4 more days thumbsup woot bravo happydance joy2 joy

I so need this as there are only about two or three games a year that I have any interest in playing anymore....remember the good old days when we had two or three releases a month?

Re: Firmament Release Date Trailer - 05/16/23 12:04 PM

It won't be much longer now will it GreyFuss. I'm ready

I remember those days. I believe most here do. The neatest thing about those days was they came in a box. Some even had very detailed hint books wrapped with the game. Very good days. Missed for sure

There are 4 games releasing this month so far that I will get, probably 2 at a time. You can't play them all at the same time can you. Just in case I decide to buy them all I HAVE stocked up on hot dogs:

Firmament

Return to Grace

Bone Totem

Tin Hearts

Re: Firmament Release Date Trailer - 05/17/23 05:45 PM

Cyan has released a "Launch Trailer" now. Looks great. Check out this "Reacting to the Firmament Launch Trailer. Release this game already

If Firmament does not run on my maxed out W7 with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti 12GB I will be ordering a new machine the day of release from one place or the other then HDMI'ing it to the big screen. Its over due and it seems most games releasing today would like W10 with a good card

I'll need more hot dogs......
