About the game

Firmament is a new puzzle-adventure game by the legendary game studio behind the best-selling games Myst and Riven. Featuring deep storytelling and world-building, discover the story of this seemingly abandoned world as you explore and unlock the mysteries of three unique Realms and beyond!

The title’s Kickstarter campaign amassed over $1.4 million USD across more than 18,000 backers.

Game Features

Explore a Fantastical Steampunk World: Firmament invites you to explore the legendary deep world-building Cyan is known for. It is a fantastic steampunk visual feast with thrilling new sights to see around every corner. At the same time, its world feels completely plausible, as though it were constructed with a bigger purpose in mind…

Solve Puzzles: You carry with you a device called an “Adjunct” as you explore. This Adjunct is your interface as you interact with the various devices throughout the Realms of Firmament. Employing the Adjunct to solve the puzzles you encounter will bring you ever closer to unlocking the secrets this place holds.

Discover The Story: You are not entirely alone in Firmament. In addition to The Adjunct, you are joined by a mysterious apparition, who has a story of her own to share with you. As you explore you will be introduced to 3 Realms - each with secrets and mysteries to reveal. What purpose do the Realms serve? Can the spirit who accompanies you be trusted?
Reveal a Realms-Spanning Mystery: Are the realms of Firmament abandoned? What are these giant, mysterious machines scattered throughout the world? What is their purpose? What part do you play in this grand mystery? Seek and uncover the answers for yourself.

Built for both 2D and VR Displays:Firmament supports both 2D and VR play on PC. The VR experience includes Free Roam and Teleport modes and supports Valve Index, HTC Vive, Oculus Rift, Rift S, and Quest 2 via Oculus Link. There are also many “comfort level” features, such as enabling smooth or snap turning, quick travel up stairs and ladders, vertical height quantization, and more!

The music of Firmament was composed by Maclaine Diemer. He came to this game with more than 14 years of experience, having worked on some of the highest profile titles across multiple game console generations as well as PC.

Oldbroad, I don't like all those moving pictures either!

Re: Firmament Now Available - 05/21/23 01:44 AM

Hi Oldbroad, if you use Firefox and I know this is not the best solution but to stop those Moving pictures, you can Right - Click on each Picture and select Pause and the Pics will stop moving, of course this will have to be done each time you re-visit GOG for this game or other games.

If you use Edge, follow the same steps but instead of Pause, You remove the checkmark from the word "Loop" again same applies when you re-visit, a bit of a pain in the butt but at least you can read what is on the page without those annoying moving pictures.

Thanks for that info Starcom. It's easier just to go to Steam!

Your welcome Oldbroad but I must be confusing what moving pictures you mention because in my confusion (which is very Easy for me to get confused) Steam has those same moving pictures, not as many unless you click on read more than more Pics show up, but the important thing is that for you Steam works better and I am happy for you, take care.

Yes, Steam has them but not as many and not as big or prominent or something. It is easier for me to read about the games on Steam than on GOG (usually).

That's good to know Oldbroad, maybe we could ask the Computer Goddess angel aka Draclvr to see if their is a way to stop these flashing images in the Browser set up sherlock.

On my W10 when I right click on GOG's looping videos I can take off the "Loop" check mark shown and the vids stop running. Steam offers no options to do the same. Refreshing will start pics looping again

Thanks, Orion. Starcom, I have no control over the web design at GOG and STEAM! But, whoever thought that was a good idea should be fired!

There must be a solution to this problem. I'm using Firefox and when I use Orion's link (or any other time I go to GOG) the videos dont play until I click on the Play symbol, and refreshing the page doesn't cause the videos to start playing. It has been working like that for a long time. I might have made some setting change that caused it to work this way, but if I did, it was a long time ago and I don't remember whether I did change anything or what it was I might have changed.

Re: Firmament Now Available - 05/22/23 05:36 AM

The videos don't play automatically. It is the ones under the game "description" on the left part of the page next to the "game details". They make me crazy but I'm sorry I mentioned it now. I didn't mean to cause such a ruckus. blush

Re: Firmament Now Available - 05/22/23 01:04 PM

oldbroad, no ruckus and it's very true. The looping videos make me nauseous and dizzy. It keeps me away from going to it.

Re: Firmament Now Available - 05/23/23 05:32 AM

Well Oldbroad and all others who dislikes The looping videos I found an add on for Firefox to eliminate this, the only thing though is when you go to a site with The looping videos you have to refresh the page and it will stop, there are 2 ways that I know of: 1) click on the 3 quarter circle with an arrow near the top left or easier way 2) Just hit the F5 button to refresh the page, once you that the animations stop. Here is the link to add on, I have tried and seems to work pretty good.

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-CA/firefox/addon/toggleanigif/reviews/?score=4

just click on the Blue "Toggle Animated Gif" and add it to Firefox

I forgot to add the stopping of "The looping videos withing Firefox" as Uncle Reg mentioned but one method I tried via the Settings did not work for me and the other way is to play with "about:config" but the could be complicated for people with less computer experience so I will not mention that one.

I just found out that this "right clicking" to stop the looping vids does not work when logged in. It does when NOT logged in. Sorry for misleading
