Thanks Ana
I liked this one very much, good story and interactive parts and minigames. Not just a straight HOG, much better. I don't know how long it is, as I have only played about 35 minutes, but I liked it so much, I brought it. And its a FF , so one more towards that keychain

I downloaded it but the game will not come up. Guess I'll uninstall and try again.

I really want to try this game but it will not install. Tried it on both computers. Guess I will have to wait for the next HOG/IHOG.

Kate Anne, did you email BFG for help? Have you had problems installing their games before?

I love everything about this game, the story, the minigames are fun, the objects are slightly different from the standart HO sets.

Unlike Kate Anne the game downloaded and installed with no problem but the game will not come up/open. I uninstalled and am re-downloading. Hopefully this will work. It sounds like a fun game!

I am really enjoying this game too.
It is a really involving story, graphics crisp and clear and the mini games so far have been fun
With the installation I had a bit of problem too. I had a pop up to install C+ visual basic and then I got a message I had to repair it - gee! Anyway after that all happened it finallly installed.

Looney4labs, Yes I have about 100 Big Fish Games. I will contact Big Fish.
BellaRose, I had the same pop up to install C+ Visual. I did not install it because I did not know what that was. Did you install it and your game worked?
Want to play this game.
Thank you for all your help.

Re: Affair Bureau - New HOG on BigFish - 04/21/09 06:37 PM
Sorry, it must be me, but I found this game frustrating with badly translated/spelled English. Looking for a 'vent' which I couldn't find, turned out to be a plunger. Similarly, a 'flashlight' turned out to be an old fashioned lantern. And most hilariously of all, looking for 'bumf' (which I took to be a load of old documents) turned out to be a toilet roll!? Why 'bumf'? Here in England, bum describes a hind part of the anatomy and is probably better known in the US as '***'! Not a game for me I'm afraid.
All the other excellent interactive HOGs e.g., Serpent of Isis, Return to Ravenhearst, Flix Family Secrets has rather raised my expectations.

I would definitely go ahead and let the C+ Visual install; I did, and the game runs just fine. I don't think that Big Fish would have included this as part of the installation routine were it not very important.

Thank you Marian
I did not know that was part of the installation routine. I had never seen that before. Thank you. I installed it and now I am able to play.

Terrific!
On the Big Fish forums there were other people questioning this, so you were not alone. They have been reassured that this was part of the installation routine and not to be concerned by it. I'm glad to hear you are up and running now.

The first time that I downloaded the game I didn't get that pop-up but this time I did and it works fine! Thank goodness for this forum or I would never had known what that C+ thing was about. Thanks members!

Re: Affair Bureau - New HOG on BigFish - 04/21/09 08:31 PM
I hate to be odd man out but I thought the items to find were way too small.
Then, I exited the game, it showed I had 42 minutes left and the game was closed but not the menu that tells how many minutes you have left. I left the computer and came back after watching what I had on the stove... and lo and behold the game was on the beginning screen where you sign in and I had lost 20 minutes. It had to have reopened the game when I failed to close the menu that told me I had 42 minutes left.
Well, I played enough anyway. I liked everything about the game except the small items.
I didn't hesitate to download the C+ Visual install because I trust Big Fish. Any other company I'd have not downloaded it.

I finished the game, didn't have any technical problems. The graphics are clear, some objects were small but still not difficult to find. I spent about 3 enjoyable hours...too short. Real coffee break fun game.

I have to agree there Springchicken and the game was indeed very short. I just finished it then and was surpised how quickly it ended. I will play it again though as I enjoyed the mini games

Springchicken, you are a fast player.
Bella, do you know how long it took you?
Were any of the mini-games skipped?

Hi Looney
I think it took me about 3 hours as well. I did skip the microscope puzzles, but I spent a lot of time doing them until I got frustrated.

Hi looney4labs, I usually take my time playing the games, but this one ended too soon. I skipped one microscope puzzle and one with the light beams, but like Bella I spent a lot of time with them at first.

was it just me or was the ending a little wierd? I mean we spend all this time searching for things and then it turns out to be something totally different then what we have been looking for all along? When did the story flip and when did I fall asleep while playing it to miss the flip from one theme to another?

Re: Affair Bureau - New HOG on BigFish - 04/22/09 10:45 AM
I was so disappointed with the ending. I had really been enjoying the game until then, but it was as if they ran out of ideas, could not be bothered and just wanted to get the game done. It finished so abruptly, and was weird.
I had recommended it, but now I am not so sure I would

I think I was in such shock when it ended that it had finished so soon I did not fully absorb what was going on.
I really enjoyed the game but must be the shortest game I have ever played.
