Azada series

Azada series - 04/12/19 05:31 AM

I have the first 3 games on disc and the 4th as a download. Just started playing the first one tonight. I had to repeat the 2nd chapter because it took me too long to figure out how a couple of the puzzles worked. Should be fun, or maybe hardwall. wink

Of the first two Azada games, I preferred the second one because it wasn't timed. There were plenty of fans here of the first game, however. The first game was good; I just wasn't happy with the time constraints.

I'm playing this right now and finding it very enjoyable. smile

I liked the first Azada for the variety of puzzles.
I didn't like the timer, so I used a walkthrough to keep from timing out and having to repeat.
With the early "room puzzles" that are like mini-adventure games I didn't need the walkthrough, but the later ones I was taking too long on.

I have that game Marian but haven't played it yet.

That's what I'm wondering about Jenny, the later puzzles getting harder and I already had to repeat the 2nd chapter. We'll see.

I don't mind the timer in this type of game but hope not to have to repeat a chapter too many times. If it comes to that, I'll be looking for the walkthrough. Figuring out the puzzles in the first try and being able to beat the timer in the second try isn't too bad.

Well, have to play Chapter 3 over and didn't even get to see the last 2 or 3 puzzles at all this first time around.

Made it through the first game with no hints or walkthrough help. 3 chapters in 1 try; 5 chapters in 2 tries, the last 2 chapters in 3 tries. Those last 2 chapters did start to get to me lol.

I think I better play something else before starting the 2nd game.

Congratulations! bravo

The second game really isn't like the first game at all. And as I recall, there is an untimed mode. Puzzle lovers were expecting the second game to be much like the first and instead it's more of an adventure-lite game.

Thanks for the info Marian. I liked the first game and even if the second one is different, I'm sure I'll like it also! I suppose if it was just like the first one, it would get tiring anyway.

I've been playing Ancient Magic (the 2nd game) in timed mode also, even though there is a relaxed mode available. I miss the variety of puzzles that the 1st game had though. These "book" puzzles are not my favorite. I've only played 7 of them so far but I read that there are more than 20.

Did anybody play the 3rd and 4th games?

I have the third and fourth games. I have played #3, but it was too long ago for me to remember much of anything about it. I think it was pretty well received.

Azada 3: In Libro and Azada 4: Elementa are more like other Hidden object games, not really like either of the first two Azada games. The biggest tie-in they have with the first two games is that you still have the magician guy you met at the end of the first Azada and he still needs your help with something. Azada 3 and 4 were developed by ERS while the first two Azada games were made by Big Fish. They weren't bad games, but weren't really that different from a lot of other games released around the same time.

I'd have really liked more games like the first one, with the variety of puzzles but without the timer.

Thanks Marian and Jenny. It's too bad they couldn't have stuck with the variety like the first game, but with a choice of timer or not. I'll still be playing all of them. smile

I'm quite enjoying Azada 3 (In Libro) even though it is not a puzzle game like the first one is. I'm still finding it to be somewhat different.
