Re: The Seven Chambers - New HOPA on Big Fish - 11/12/19 03:26 PM
I originally thought this was a HOPA but then read a review that said there were no hidden object scenes, so changed to calling this an adventure lite game.

I took a look at the Demo and liked what I saw, but I have a question: The game is referred to as "Adventure Lite" but also as "HO." Is it both? Is it more or less a typical HOA?

I changed my description from HOPA to adventure lite, as after I posted I read a review saying there were no hidden object scenes in the game. Beyond that, I haven't looked at the demo so can't provide any more details.

Thank you, Marian!
This is a beautiful game. I picked it up right away with one of my punch card coupons and finding it very enjoyable.
I just finished playing Leaves: The Journey today. I was about to play Leaves: The Return until I checked out the trial for The Seven Chambers. Now I'm caught up in this game and have to finish.

I am happy you like the game, smitty, and how nice to have Leaves: The Return waiting for you as well!

I have a question about Seven Chambers. I finally bought it and love it, although I've only gotten started. I just finished the scene where the Highlander's tent is by the loch, when I encountered a glitch. After I solved the "4 Suns" puzzle on the rock near the loch, the game stopped responding. I can't interact with anything anymore and can't move to the next scene. It simply is locked up. The music is still playing and the moving bits of scenery continue to move, but I can't.
I had to resort to CTRL + ALT + DEL to get out of the game. Has anyone else had this problem? I thought I'd ask first before writing to BF. I am really LOVING this game and hope it isn't flawed. I don't want to give it up for a refund. :-(

Stupid question for you Reenie. Did you go back into the game again? Sometimes they glitch like that but work fine when you go back in.
I don't have the game but some of the BF reviewers mentioned freeze ups.

Take a look at this thread here
from Steam. It sounds like others may have had this or similar issues but they were still able to play on through.

Hi Reenie,
I have the game in my purchased list back in Nov. 2019 and played it, but don't remember having your type of issue. I played on laptop Windows 7. Bu have noticed with just a couple of other games locking up like that, but once the game is closed and you go back in, it seems to play just fine. Hope this helps. Were you able to get back in the game after closing it?

Thanks, Marian. I had to get my IT hubby involved because I could not even get out of the game using Task Manager the normal way. He showed me a work-around and I finally got my Desktop back. Just for grins, I tried re-opening the game and was able to continue past the waterfall scene and go on. I am now in the Cave, solving various problems and everything seems to work OK. I'm crossing my fingers.
Oh, and still loving the game. Oh how I wish there were more like it! It is mysterious, clever and new, and it is all true to the time period and place. It doesn't have me looking for a bowling ball or a croquet mallet to open a UPS package.

That's great, Reenie. Cateia is one of the developers of this game and I have always enjoyed their games. I'm so glad you are able to carry on.
