Tron: Evolution - 06/11/10 12:15 PM

Was just perusing the latest copy of Gameinformer mag
and ran across an article about a followup to
the 1982 Disney film Tron.
This will also be the title of the game {from Propoganda Games}
for a number of platforms including the PC.
States the movie Tron: Evolution
will focus on the programs themselves and
their struggle against a rampaging virus called Abraxas.
{slated for a November 1 release}

Hi katbear -- it looks like an action game if you read further in Game Informer.

Quote:
Gameplay is designed as a blend of free running and melee and mid-range combat using the iconic disc against corrupted, malicious programs.

I'm moving this over to the Dark Side. wave

Hmm, this doesn't sound like an action/combat type of game to me. Using a disk to fight a virus program seems more like a technical puzzle for a computer whiz. Still the quote does use the words "melee" and "combat" so maybe more action than thinking is involved here.

If you've not seen Tron, the "programs" are personified in the electronic world, and so can be fought. And think of the disk as a missile weapon - a mixture between a frisbee and a boomerang.

Thanks, gremlin,
My imagination just didn't reach far enough. I never could have pictured a disk as a missile weapon or a program as anything capable of fighting a missile. Now I can! Sort of...maybe.
