Obsidian's Outer Worlds

This was one of the E3 announcements I posted awhile back and lost track of it's progress.

A few weeks ago, Obsidian stated that the game will be released sometime in 2019....

So, to get the juices flowing again on what looks to be a fun sci-fi romp:

Thanks, TM! We need more single-player RPGs. I hadn't heard about this one.

I love that Obsidian is taking a humorous tack in this one. Some of the video comments call this a Fallout: Las Vegas in space, which is a good thing to me. Obsidian knows how to build a good game, that's for sure.

Corporations? Plural? Nah. Someday it will be one mega corporation which owns everything.

For those that are interested in the game mechanics I found a game play video from the YouTube channel Game Informer and their regular show, "New Gameplay Today" that shows a little under 15 minutes in-game.

Since the game hasn't been released yet, you'll need to consider that some things may change prior to the release. Outwardly though, it's pretty apparent that this is using the same base Graphics Engine used in the more recent Fallout releases and Skyrim. As such, I'm guessing that it will have the same or similar basic key bindings and controls.

Also, just to clarify the brief comment made by one of the commentators, this is NOT an Xbox exclusive release and will be available for PC, Xbox and PS4. That comment was in reference to the recent news I posted here a bit ago that Obsidian had been purchased by Microsoft. This invariably means that they will eventually be releasing some Xbox exclusives, but this is not one of those.
