Gaming Release Info Rumors and Report-Out for PAX East: Ongoing Updates - 02/26/20 11:52 PM

The following is a list of some of the darkside games that should have release news during the PAX East conference over the next week. I'll try to update this post with any new information and other games that comes out of it.

>Starfield - Bethesda Softworks: A space based RPG that is rumored to be an extension of the Fallout Universe. We'll see what's confirmed in the upcoming announcements.

>The Elder Scrolls VI - Bethesda Softworks: The next single player continuation of the Elder Scrolls saga. Bethesda has been under a lot of scrutiny with it's release issues of Fallout 76 and other dramas. The Elder Scrolls fanbase is quite large, so many are hoping they will redeem themselves with this release.

>Wasteland 3 - Exile Studios: After 2 delays and only moderately successful releases of the sequel to Planescape Torment and The Bard's Tale, much will be expected from the release of this classic hybrid.

>Vampire: The Masquerade 2 - Paradox Interactive: There has been some rumors that along with the single player campaign, multi-player and/or coop may be available. This is another game with a faithful fan base that will be anxious for Paradox to release a great product.

>Final Fantasy VII: Remake - Square Enix: Talk about a fan base! Square Enix better get it right. I for one am hoping for a PC version.

For those who would like to peruse the rather extensive schedule: PAX East Event Schedule

What games are you excited about, on the list or otherwise?

My son is really looking forward to the Final Fantasy VII remake as well as Baldur's Gate 3. I'm most interested in Vampire: The Masquerade and Baldur's Gate 3. The Bethesda stuff still seems too far away. grin

Me, too!

I wonder if BG 3 will have some way of importing a previous character? Probably not, I'm guessing.

Well, still sorting through Day 1's presentations and announcements.

Things got a little confusing because a few more Dev groups pulled out of attending due to the Coronavirus scare, including CD ProjektRed. Square Enix also apparently dropped some of the venues they were going to sponsor, not sure if the Final Fantasy forum will still be on or not.

Gearbox did mention that they will be having 4 updates to Borderlands 3 over the coming year, I didn't catch any specific talk about the planned Borderlands movie though. Here's a breakdown of the updates over at Forbes: Guns, Love and Tentacles Yup, you read that right. Took me three times not to spell out something else lol

Marvel also put out a teaser that they will be there announcing a new game.

Having some issues locating anything from Betheseda on the two previously mentioned games. Seems like they are gearing their energies toward Doom Eternal , The Elder Scrolls online which is actually produced by their parent company Zenimax and updates for Fallout 76.

I think the BG3 demo was one of the most anticipated events there.

The Marketing Manager over at Microsoft Xbox put together a nice summary of Indie Attendees at PAX East. While being the self-serving corporate entity that they may be, this is a decent list of the indie line up over at the show, and can give you some good info for games to look for in the coming year if you're an Indie game development fan thumbsup

Looks like Bethesda's most attention getting activity other than Doom related stuff, was the trailer and gameplay for the upcoming Fallout 76 expansion, "The Wastelanders"

New Science Fiction based First-Person Shooter, "Outriders" From Square Enix and People Can Fly productions looks like a great shooter-looter.

It's a different spin on the post-apocalyptic shooter in that the story begins with a group of people who escaped a dying earth to a planet called Enoch, but find a power that transforms them.

While this is initially releasing on Playstation, it will be available through Steam tentatively during the holiday season of 2020: Outriders - Steam Store Page

Outriders - Official Reveal Trailer This it the first reveal trailer from a couple weeks ago.

I'll post up a link to the gameplay and panel discussion that took place at PAX a little later today as soon as it becomes available.

I knew that Sony and Capcom pulled out, but it looks like Square Enix has also pulled out of the Final Fantasy Panel event at PAX, again due to fear around travel and the coronavirus. I guess we'll have to wait for further news on the the upcoming Final Fantasy remake via their FF VII Website

Wow. There's a lot there to absorb. Gaming heaven.

I'm looking forward to another Elder Scrolls game, of course, and naturally I'll happily grab anything Baldur's Gate and Vampire. More Fallout universe too? I'm in.

I'd better get going on that new gaming laptop!

Yeah, I was lucky in that one of my projects ended right as PAX started, couldn't attend, but was able to catch a decent number of the live streams. Hard to keep track of all the attendees. We'll see how this year runs, not sure if I'll be able to make it to E3 this June, due to work projects and all the virus craziness, but will still post up as many new "Darkside" game announcements that come out just prior to and during that I can catch .
