I remember Mikael saying how much he liked this game. Great price!

This is the best non-adventure game I've ever played. The action sequences is quite hard sometimes, but can be bypassed with cheat codes.

I have moved this thread over to the Darkside forum.

That's quite a recommendation, Mikael. Good to know about the cheat codes. Maybe I will take a look at it at some point.

I saw this sale price on Steam also and have put it on my wishlist trying to decide. I don't know a thing about cheat codes so unfortunately that doesn't help my decision duh. However, if I buy the game it certainly will not be the first time I've bought a game that I wasn't sure I'd be able to play wink.

I believe I read that there are options regarding the difficulty though?

Re: We Happy Few Game - 06/26/20 04:44 AM

Here is from an online article about the game concerning difficulty choices.

Quote
You will have the choice of the following three playthrough styles:

Explorers (Birdwatcher): These gamers are story oriented or simply want to investigate the world but usually do not want to spend lots of time looking for food and water to stay alive, and are generally not looking for an arduous combat challenge.

Adventurers (Downer): These players prefer a more balanced gameplay with some challenge but not too much difficulty. They may or may not care about story but probably don’t hate having it around them. In this setting the game is a blend of survival and traditional action game elements – pretty similar to the game that is currently playable.

Survivors (Vigilante) : These gamers prefer the more hardcore aspects of survival games and love a punishing, if motivated, challenge. In this setting, the game increases the importance and demands of survival game mechanics.

I have seen the game for sale on GOG several times now. It has a deep discount on it at present.

Mikael, which code did you use to skip an action scene if it became to hard and what code did you find most useful .

I don't think I'd ever heard of this game until I saw the posts about it here at Gameboomers.

Anyway, I've now bought it and added it to my un-played stack.

SO ridiculous !! evil evil

[Doubtless I'll need to use some cheat codes though as Action/Adventures are not my forte crazy]

Yes, if I ever get the game, cheat codes will definitely be a part of my gameplay.

Re: We Happy Few Game - 06/26/20 07:21 PM

I’ve never used cheat codes. Hope it’s not difficult to set up and use.

Re: We Happy Few Game - 06/27/20 12:33 AM

This is how you use the cheat codes:

Open the following file with Windows Notepad (or any other text editor):
C:\Users\Admin\Documents\My Games\We Happy Few\Config\WindowsNoEditor\input.ini

Add these two lines at the very end:
[/Script/GlimpseGame.GlimpseConsole]
bConsoleEnabled=True

Save the file.

After that, you only have to press tilde [~] to bring down a window where you can type different commands to cheat.

God makes you invisible, and is practilly the only command you need to get through difficult scenes.

Heal gives you full health.

This is a lot of fun. Reminds me a little of bioshock. I appreciate everyone mentioning this since I was aware of it but the price was to high and I didn't really look into it when it first came out. I think it was an early release or something like that. wink

Re: We Happy Few Game - 06/28/20 03:20 PM

That is very good to hear! It looks like the game has some DLC/expansions as well. I hope you continue to have fun with it. It was quite pricey when initially released, so this is a great time for purchase. thumbsup
