It is very easy to endure the difficulties of one's enemies. It is the successes of one's friends that are hard to bear.

Caddy-Golder Dialogues

Golfer: "I've played so poorly all day; I think I'm going to go drown myself in that lake."
Caddy: "I doubt you could keep your head down that long."

Golfer: "I'd move heaven and earth to be able to break 100 on this course."
Caddy: "Try heaven. You've already moved most of the earth."

Golfer: "Well, I have never played this badly before!
Caddy: "I didn't realize you had played before, sir."

Golfer: "Caddy, do you think my game is improving?"
Caddy: "Oh yes, sir! You miss the ball much closer than you used to."

Golfer: "Please stop checking your watch all the time, caddy. It's distracting!"
Caddy: "This isn't a watch, sir, its a compass!"

Golfer: "Caddy, do you think it is a sin to play golf on Sunday?"
Caddy: "The way you play, sir, it's a sin any day of the week!"

Golfer: "This golf is a funny game."
Caddy: "It's not supposed to be."

Golfer: "That can't be my ball, caddy. It looks far too old."
Caddy: "It's a long time since we started, sir."

Golfer: "Do you think I can get there with a 5-iron?"
Caddy: "Eventually."

Golfer (screaming): "You've got to be the worst caddy in the world!"
Caddy: "I doubt it. That would be too much of a coincidence!"

A drunk was staggering down the main street of town. Somehow he managed to make it up the stairs to the cathedral and into the building, where he crashed from pew to pew, finally making his way to a side aisle and into a confessional.

A priest had been observing the man's sorry progress and figuring that the fellow was in need of some assistance, proceeded to enter his side of the confessional. But his attention was rewarded only by a lengthy silence. Finally he asked, "May I help you, my son?"

"I dunno..." came the drunk's voice from behind the partition. "You got any toilet paper on your side?"

Brenda O'Malley is home making dinner, as usual, when Tim Finnegan arrives at her door. "Brenda, may I come in?" he asks. "I've somethin' to tell ya."

"Of course you can come in, you're always welcome, Tim. But where's my husband?"

"That's what I'm here to be tellin' ya, Brenda. There was an accident down at the Guinness brewery..."

"Oh, God no!" cries Brenda. "Please don't tell me...."

"I must, Brenda. Your husband Shamus is dead and gone. I'm sorry." Finally, she looked up at Tim.

"How did it happen, Tim?"

"It was terrible, Brenda. He fell into a vat of Guinness Stout and drowned."

"Oh my dear Jesus! But you must tell me true, Tim. Did he at least go quickly?"

"Well, no Brenda... no. Fact is, he got out three times to take a wee."

Airman Jones was assigned to the induction center, where he advised new recruits about their government benefits, especially their GI insurance.

It wasn't long before Captain Smith noticed that Airman Jones was having a staggeringly high success-rate, selling insurance to nearly 100% of the recruits he advised.

Rather than asking him about this, the Captain stood at the back of the room and listened to Jones' sales pitch.

Jones explained the basics of GI Insurance to the new recruits, and then said, "If you are killed in a battle and have a GI Insurance, the government has to pay $200,000 to your beneficiaries. But, if you don't have a GI insurance and get killed in the battle, the government only has to pay a maximum of $6000."

"Now," he concluded, "which group do YOU think they are going to send into battle first?"

An American man, a Russian man, and an African man were all up in a hot-air balloon together. After a few minutes, the Russian man put his hand down through the clouds. "Aaah!" he said. "We're right over my homeland."

"How can you tell?" asked the American.

"I can feel the cold air." he replied.

A few hours later the African man put his hand through the clouds. "Aah we're right over my homeland." he said.

"How do you know that?" asked the Russian. "I can feel the heat of the desert."

Several more hours later the American put his hand through the clouds. "Aah, we're right over New York."

The Russian and the African were amazed. "How do you know all of that?" they exclaimed.

The American pulled his hand up. "My watch is missing."

Good morning Joe and all! Sorry you have to close/open. My kids hate that too! Peter has been closing Saturday nights at 4 am and has to be back at 9:30 am. He hates it.

I have my class in the morning and then it's another corner day. I am trying to get a day off this weekend to go to see the icefalls before they go away. Every weekend something comes up or its too cold.

Have an awesome day all!

Re: Thump Day....oops - 02/13/14 03:35 PM

Joe, that was really inconsiderate of them to schedule you that way. thumbsdown Hope the time flies for you. To answer your question from yesterday, I live in Maryland. smile

Ana, do they schedule him that way a lot? I would hate it, too (and possibly look for something else). Really, at that point, he pay as well not go to sleep at all. crazy Hope your class and your project go well today. Hope you get the day off that you want!

Have a nice day, too, Haroula.

Cailyn, hope the snow calms down for you.

Enjoy the snow or hope the snow ceases for you, whichever is your preference, Gerry. smile

Gail, wow, how much did you have already? eek Sounds like a good day to stay in and game.

Well, we got bombarded just like they said we would. Luckily, I don't have to work today, but Thorsgoats was scheduled, and he's staying home. For all either of us knows, the store might be closed anyway. Public transportation and air travel are both down. I do work tomorrow, or I'm scheduled anyway, so I'm just going to have to wait and see what happens there. It's supposed to keep snowing until around 4 pm, so I will definitely be staying in today. yes When I'm not shoveling snow from my car, I will probably be gaming. grin

Hope everyone has a great Thursday. winter

Re: Thump Day....oops - 02/13/14 05:42 PM

Temps in the low 70's here today and yesterday. Awesome weather. Sunny, white clouds, light sea breeze. I'm enjoying it while I can before the rain comes again. Just a smattering, but gets everything just went enough to make a messy yukky muddy good. Car gets muddy residue all over. Ick.

Still nothing from insurances for my car. I'm sooo tired of waiting. Never had this long wait with any other 'claim' I made.

Off to Costly Co for some stuff I need like a huge pack of mega rolls of paper towels. Gotta restock my pantry.

OH and I think that my 'Orange' feral cat has had a tussle with that newbie light gray interloper, non neutered male that hung around for about 3 weeks. I think he's the reason my poor Rags is gone. He might have been bothering her and something happened. Dunno, but yesterday morn, No Male. Orange showed up with a slight ouchie under his left eye, and today I took a better look and he also has a bigger one over his right ear. He keeps looking towards the neighbor's yard and is being very cautious about eating. Skittish. Yesterday ALL the ferals were like that and looking over to the same yard. I'm pretty sure that there was a fight and Orange has banished the new guy. Hope so, things were upset when he arrived AND he ate so much the others were not getting a fair share. The 'regular' ferals eat a bit, and leave some for later. He would eat everything left and lick the plates clean. Not good, so I'd have to go out and do a second feeding at noon. Hope he moved on to a better territory.

Off I go....

Good morning to all you good Boomers.

Even though we have snow on the ground, it is a beautiful day. Blue shies, sunshine and it is warming up. It is 43.5 out. Got steak out of the freezer and Bill will grill out tonight. Drool!!!

Went to Wally World this morning for just a few things and ended up with more then a few. Nothing exciting though. May go over to Penney's tonight as Bill got a $15 certificate for his birthday, compliments of Penney's.

I need to vacuum the corgi hairs off of the living room carpet. Corgi hair for sale. lol

Re: Thump Day....oops - 02/13/14 07:22 PM

Thumping Good Thursday ya'll puppy

10,000 plus folks in AL have no power. I hope they get it back quickly.

Sweet hubby took Seagy to the vet bright and early for her surgery. She is now out of surgery and recovering. We likely won't hear the results for at least 2 weeks. Hubby will pick her up on the way home as dogs after anesthesia whine and cry and it breaks my heart. I can't take it. Once hubby is home with her, I'll take her up to the bed so the 2 legged and 4 legged boys won't bother her.

We have bright sun and blue sky and lots and lots of wind. The boys and I will take the dogs walking in a bit. We will all benefit by getting out. Once back with the boys, I'll give them lunch. Then I'll make some cheesy potato soup for supper tonight, and then hang with the boys til hubby gets home. Son works today from 9 in the morning til close.

Daughter is flying home to surprise hubby for Valentine's Day. Not sure surprising is a good thing. I hope it goes as she hopes.

I had a busy morning as seems to be normal now. I made toothpaste..will see how it works for my teeth.

Re: Thump Day....oops - 02/14/14 12:30 AM

Hi Boomers!! Such terrible weather all over our poor country..well, almost..except where Andrea lives!! wink Getting a wee break here and then more high winds and rian coming in Saturday. Actually going to be very windy and raining tonight after midnight but not the over 60 mph gusts. Hanging in there with my Mum but getting more difficult. Can't wait to get the official diagnosis but that is later this month. I wanted to go to my friends Celebration of Life but that is impossible with current situation. There will be hundreds there as she had a huge personality and was well known in my church/alumni circle. 58 is too young to die! sad Off I go to complete some more tasks!! Happy Gaming everyone and let's collectively pray for Spring!! wave

Re: Thump Day....oops - 02/14/14 12:54 AM

Hey everybody. wave

I'm pushing it again. I got off at 4:00, and ran home to greet my babies, eat a bite, get a shower, and get to bed so I can get back up at 3:30 and do it again. tired

I over slept this morning by 45 minutes. Rolled out of bed, threw my clothes on and hit the road with nothing for breakfast. shocked

Looking very forward to getting off at 2:00 tomorrow, and starting my weekend. The weather was perfect today, and it's going to be that way all weekend. Woo Hoo! dance

Y'all have yourselves a nice evening. wave

Hanging upstairs with my Seagy. Will be staying next to her for a few days so she does not scratch her stitches out. Good thing she is fond of the bed.
