I love #1 as that's me! Our New Year's Eve plans are have a blessedly quiet night at home. Every year we gone to a party at our American Legion Post. It's always fun, but staying home always sounded much better. But we wanted to support our friend who was the bar manager. She retired this year, so home it is! I'm going to cook a nice dinner and we'll watch a movie. YAY!! Happy New Year, everyone! I may or may not still be awake at midnight CST!

Joe! Does this mean you will still be running the diner in 2020? My heart skipped a bit when I saw your comments!

Joe, lame is fine; don't worry about it.
I use number 12 all the time. Saying 'last year' makes it sound like much more than it is; esp if you saw person within a few days of the new year. I still think it fits and its funny.

Don't know about the rest of you, but I can't believe its 2020 already. Remember the Y2K scare in 1999?
