Dead Mountaineer's Hotel--loading problem

Just purchased Dead Mountaineer's Hotel from Steam. I downloaded the game and I get an icon for Steam but no icon for Dead Mountaineer's Hotel.

I checked into Steam--the game Dead Mountaineer's Hotel appeared on the screen. I pressed the install button and a message appeared telling me that it was updating my files. However, the updating continues forever.

If the game is installing rather than simply patching, the download may take a LONG time.
