I just did a search of the Big Fish forums to see if anyone else had reported error 1404, and there were a few people here and there saying that they had received this message in relationship to downloading various games. Most if not all of those people, a few days later, said that they were no longer receiving this message and that things were working again the way that they were supposed to.

The 1404 error is a game manager app error wherein the Big Fish game manager is unable to retrieve the security certificate for the game from the Big Fish server. I am now using a rolled back version of the game manager.
I am going to assume that this poster received this information from Big Fish Customer Support. It sounds like a problem on their end and not yours. If I were you, I would wait a while and see if the problem corrects itself, being as you have already reported it to Big Fish.
