Book of Unwritten Tales 2 Game Install Issue Resolved!

Hello.
Bought this game from Amazon. Thought I was buying the PC version.
But when I try to install the game it want's to go via Steam.
I don't want to play thru Steam.
Should I remove Steam from my laptop?
Has anyone installed this game successfully to play without Steam?

If you bought the Steam version of a game, you'll have to use Steam to play it.

If you don't want to use Steam, look for the game in a Steam-free version.

You never have to use Steam for a game you bought at GOG.

I had the same problem- see my post—if the game has a Steam Code, nearly all new games do now, then you don’t have any option. You cannot activate a code online with Steam, you have to create an account with Steam on your PC to open Steam Client then click ‘add a game’ and download.
If you get a small pop up on the bottom right on your screen to play online, ignore.

You are now playing the game off line on your PC, not on Steam. You can save the game on your PC or burn on a disk. Finally, only buy codes from a reliable source, not from code pirates, otherwise Steam may well freeze and lock your account, which is a real nightmare to unlock.

Had my neighbor's 15 yr. old son come over and school me on Steam.
I'm now comfortable using Steam to play the game.
So my issue is resolved!
