system requirements - again

Question: I am not sure how a ATI Radeon 4800 HD Series video card (from 2009) comepare to a AMD Radeon R7 250, which is what the new game Goetia wants. Would you be able to play it, I wonder.

Sometimes you can get that information by typing in the cards in Google something like

Radeon 4800 vs "Radeon R7 250"

There's one thing I see that may be a problem --

Radeon 4800 series is a DirectX 10.1 card
R7 series is DirectX 11.2

We had a question about another game recently where the DirectX version made a difference, and the game couldn't be played with a DirectX 10.1 card. So see if you can find what DirectX version the game needs.

I notice Game-Debate lists lower requirements, but they may not be correct.

Even though it looks like a simple point-and-click game, there might be lighting effects or other atmospheric effects that require a DirectX 11.2 card.

Thank you for your help, Jenny100. I was not aware of the demo of this game. Nor did I know the game-debate site. I guess it all comes down to directx- it seems more and more games require a 11 card. I only wish the developers would be more specific about it.

I'm playing the game on an Nvidia 660 Ti card and it's working perfectly. Of course, it's capable of DX 12.

If you try the demo with your Radeon HD 4800, let us know whether it works or not.
