No matter how much i've tried messing with compatibility or running as administrator the program simply won't start! not even launching when i try and launch it.

The disc version used a version of SafeDisc which is blocked by Windows 10.
Look for a NoCD/NoDVD that is made for your version of the game.

Attaboy 20, and Jenny,
I recently installed my original disc version of this game onto my Win 10 PC, and it's launching and running perfectly. As far as the compatibility settings. try Windows 98/Windows ME, check Disable scale scaling, and check Run as administrator. My video card is a Radeon HD 8330. I hope this helps you, Attaboy20.
