Can't connect to Steam today

I wanted to play a couple of my games on Steam but it won't connect. Does anyone know why this is happening on their site? I can't recall ever having this issue before. Is there anything I can do to try and connect my my account? When I click on my game icon(s) on my desktop nothing happens. Thank you for any help.

Do you have the Steam client installed? If you do, try opening Steam first and see what happens.

I checked at their "down" reporter and it seems other people are having problems too, so maybe it's on their end.

I saw at least half a dozen posts saying people couldn't access it today.

At least two people in the comments to that video said the first solution worked in May 2020 even though the video was posted last year.
