Re: Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger - 06/02/20 10:20 PM

Is it the first game of the series that you have or one of the later ones?

Re: Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger - 06/02/20 11:00 PM

It is the very first game in the series. Big Fish is offering more games for free, and this is one of them. I posted in the Casual forum today about there being a new list of games on giveaway.

Re: Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger - 06/02/20 11:14 PM

i bought it , the first one, and it was free.

Re: Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger - 06/03/20 12:53 AM

Since it lists Window 8, it "should" play. Hopefully, Big Fish can help you out.

i email them 7 day and have not got a answer from them.

Re: Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger - 06/08/20 07:56 PM

I have never written to Big Fish and not gotten a reply. Make sure that a) your email actually went through and b) when you receive the initial email response know that it is an automated one and you must reply to that email in order to get an actual representative after that.

What is it that you asked for?

Re: Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger - 06/09/20 02:33 PM

it will not play it freezes at the start, i have to cltr, alt, del at once and reboot my computer, just like julie sweet.

Re: Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger - 06/09/20 02:43 PM

Why do you have to reboot? Can't you just stop the process? Since this is a free game, they may not respond. I would just move on to a different game.

Re: Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger - 06/09/20 03:21 PM

you may be right.

Re: Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger - 06/09/20 06:35 PM

Just a comment, I downloaded Bridge to another world... it would just spin when I tried to play it... never would start... would not let me quit it either, even when I went to control, alt, delete it would not let me end the process... I had to sign out .... tried many times... different ways... reloaded.... not looking for a solution.. just wanted to point out sometimes you can't stop the spin... process....

Were you asking Big Fish for a technical fix? Was there an option in the game itself to report problems? I found this to be the case with Gummy Drop. I agree with drac. Since you had this problem with other games, it may not be the game itself. Usually Big Fish will fix common glitches in free games if they get enough people who have the same problem. I reported the glitch I found with some video ads in Gummy Drop and got a response from Big Fish saying they would check into it. Eventually, the problem was resolved.

Re: Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger - 06/11/20 10:54 PM

i had a bad dvd/cd drive, he took the whole thing out, and trash it, so i am now without one, got my disc, moving onto a new game.

Re: Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger - 06/11/20 11:12 PM

Why didn't the tech guy replace it with a new one?
Posted By: family

Re: Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger - 06/12/20 12:38 AM

he want to tape it, i said no, so he trash it.

Re: Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger - 06/12/20 02:48 AM

Doesn't sound like much of a tech.
You can get a USB DVD drive to play your game discs, but it sounds like you have a big gaping hole on the side of your laptop now.

Re: Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger - 06/12/20 03:14 AM

I agree with Jenny. Doesn't sound like much of a tech. Replacement drives are super cheap.

Re: Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger - 06/12/20 01:12 PM

Well at least you didn't pay much for it.
If it's OK in other ways, it's still a pretty good deal, though you'll need a CD/DVD drive if you want to play games on a disc.
You can get a USB DVD drive if you don't have anyone to install an internal DVD drive for you.
You can get one for $20 to $30 at ***Amazon***

This is on the XP laptop that one of the games works?
Did you buy the laptop to play the games that aren't working on your Windows 8 computer?

The Big Fish website for Julie's Sweets does not list XP as compatible.
It only lists OS: Windows 7/Windows 8/Windows 10.

Re: Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger - 06/14/20 04:14 PM

What is the brand and model number of the XP laptop?
If it has an older Intel graphics for video it may not be very compatible.

You wrote this before, and the link you gave takes to an Amazon search with several different XP laptops, mostly Dell Latitude models.

If I look up one of those Dell laptops, say the Latitude D630, it has Intel GMA X3100 graphics according to
http://www.notebookreview.com/notebookreview/dell-latitude-d630-review/

That graphics chip may not be capable of playing even 5-year-old casual games, or may only be able to play them windowed.

Re: Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger - 06/15/20 12:19 AM

product key [edited out], and intel pentium m.
Posted By: Jenny100

Re: Vacation Adventures: Park Ranger - 06/15/20 02:11 AM

That's not the brand, and model number I need to look up a laptop model.
Going by the Amazon link you gave, the make and model number I'd need to look up would look something like one of these...

Dell Latitude D630
Dell Latitude D620
Dell Latitude E6400
Dell Latitude D820
Dell Latitude D830
Dell Latitude E4300
Dell Latitude D810
Dell Latitude D520

The above are the XP laptops I saw at the Amazon link you posted.
Maybe you found one that wasn't a Dell Latitude model. For example eBay lists these laptops with Windows XP...

Dell Inspiron 1501
Dell Inspiron 1200
Sony Vaio PCG-7D2L
Dell Inspiron Mini 10 Atom
Dell lnspiron 9200
Panasonic CF-30 Toughbook
Dell Vostro 1510
Averatec 3120V
Dell XPS M1210
etc.

The model number part is fairly short, not the big long number you posted above, which may be your Windows XP product key. If that's what it is, you should probably delete it from your post.

Usually a laptop will have the make and model number printed on the laptop somewhere. It's not the one on the Windows sticker though.

I am worried that your laptop may be too old for most casual games because you say it has a Pentium M, which is a very old processor that was discontinued in 2008.
