Do you have more than one computer? I am asking because you got a Windows 10 computer in the last year or two and the game might have been on an older computer.

GOG does not sell Lost Crown at this time.

If you can't locate your copy of it, you can always purchase it from Steam here.

You can also purchase it as a download directly from the Shadow Tor Studios store here.

Re: the lost crown - 10/05/20 05:12 PM

If you played it 5 years ago on a different computer, you likely had the disks. If you can't find them, Marian has provided what you need if you want to play it again.

I provided the links above if you wish to download the game. If you want the DVD version, Amazon would be a good place to look for it.

What computer are you using right now? Windows 10? If you played the game several years ago, it was probably on a different computer.

Did you try the direct link to Shadow Tor Studios she posted?

Re: the lost crown - 10/06/20 12:27 AM

The first link that I posted for Shadow Tor Studios isn't working properly now. Here is the new link. You need to scroll down past the first game and then you will see The Lost Crown - then click where it says $5; that will take you to the shopping cart which will have The Lost Crown in it.

thanks i did - but that is very hard to work with so i gave up on that , went to amazon and they had it ! but not sure if i can down load it to my computer , yikes this is very hard . don't know what to do . and i love not having to go anywhere . have a good one.

Re: the lost crown - 10/06/20 12:33 AM

Amazon does not sell a download of the game; it only sells the CD version of the game. It looks like they have one boxed copy of the game and then there are some other sellers selling the jewel case and CD only.

As far as I know, Steam and Shadow Tor Studios are the only two places where you can buy the game as a download.

I moved your post back to the Glitches thread because we are still discussing technical issues.

From which game store did you download it?

Re: the lost crown - 10/06/20 09:04 PM

If you bought it from Shadow TOR, there should be an Instructions.txt file included in the zip file that tells you how to install and uninstall the game.
Quote

THE LAST CROWN: Midnight Horror

Information and Instructions.

1: To Install/Setup

Extract the files from the ZIP. Please double-click the setup.exe file. Agree to the License Agreement, after reading. Then, follow the instructions.

2: To Uninstall, please find The Lost Crown folder in your Start Menu Programs (from the Desktop) and select 'Uninstall'.

3: Technical Support: http://www.darklingroom.com/support

You can't expect Marian to come to your house and set everything up for you. If you can't figure out how to buy the game and install it yourself maybe you're playing the wrong game genre.

Since you have Windows 10, just click on the Start button on the lower left. You may be able to scroll down the list of installed programs and find it there.

Re: the lost crown - 10/06/20 11:46 PM

When I downloaded a game from Shadow Tor Studios, the zip file for the game went into my Downloads folder by default.

I think the difficulty here may be that deleterman downloaded the zip file for the game and he doesn't know where the zip file downloaded to on his computer. If that is the problem, the game hasn't been installed as yet. Not sure if this is what is going on, but thought I would mention it just in case.

Re: the lost crown - 10/07/20 12:25 AM

The trouble with having apps that do everything for you is that they only work when they work.
The Downloads folder may be the default download location for Windows, but if you ever change the default you won't know where your downloads are going unless you go fishing around your browser preferences and find how things have changed.

Re: the lost crown - 10/07/20 04:07 PM

Assuming you are running Windows 10, try this:

Quote
To find downloads on your PC: Select File Explorer from the taskbar, or press the Windows logo key + E. Under Quick access, select Downloads.

Then look through the Downloads and see if you have anything there that says The Lost Crown.

Yes, this kind of thing happens all the time.
You'd think they'd want to make it as easy as possible to purchase and install games, but no.....
It's got to go to be downloaded to a mystery folder somewhere. It takes longer to figure out how to buy and install games using downloads than sending boxed games snail mail from Europe.

Re-downloading from Shadow Tor isn't easy either. You can't just log into the site and re-download. The only way I could figure out how to re-download from Shadow Tor was to buy another game from them, and then I got access to past purchases.

Deleterman, once you get the game downloaded, be sure to burn it to a DVD or CD and label it. It's not as easy as being able to pull out a box with the name of the game stamped on it, but it's better than fooling with mystery downloads.
