Does anybody know if this product is good/legitimate? Thanks.

I looked at several reviews and it seems to get mixed reviews. This one is for the paid for Pro version.

Do you have Windows 10? For normal everyday computing and web browsing, my personal preference is the "built-in" Windows Security Suite. It used to be pretty anemic, but they really beefed it up starting in 2019. It doesn't hog all my resources and bog down my computer, nor does it give a bunch of false positives when I'm just trying to download a game from GOG or Big Fish. I also use Malwarebytes Pro alongside it. I let Malwarebytes run in real time which stops malware from ever getting to my computer.

I'd agree. I've used the Windows built-in antivirus and not had a problem with it.
One advantage of it is that game developers will certainly test that their games are working with it.

Thank all of you. How do you get to the built-in AV?

First, look to see if it's in your hidden icons on the lower right. The icon looks like a white shield. Right click on it to open... click on View Security Dashboard. Just make sure you don't have any other antivirus programs running.

Thanks - I got to the white shield and chose Security dashboard. It seems it is supposed to start automatically when running Windows 10.

That's correct! You really don't have to do anything. As I said, do make sure there is no other anti-virus program running such as a trial of McAfee or something like that. Is this a new computer?

It's about six months old.

OK. So is everything working OK then? Did you have a free trial or anything?

Re: Total AV - 11/25/20 03:28 PM

Yes, I've had several free trials. Crossed fingers things seem to be working now. Thank you for your time and help!

Re: Total AV - 11/25/20 03:43 PM

Just make sure none of those free trials is still running! I'd actually uninstall them if you can. Sometimes they run in the background just so they can nag you to purchase the full program.
