Carol Reed- Quarantine Diary

Carol Reed- Quarantine Diary - 01/16/21 07:17 PM

I just bought the game. I usually put a copy on a flash drive so in case anything happens I have a backup. My download times are terrible 4 hours for this one. I have been able to do so in the past with no problem. Just did it with The Fall of April and Geospots but when I try to do it with Quarantine Diary I get the question. The file Quarantine Diary-HD exe has properties that can't be copied to the new location. Are you sure you want to copy this file without its properties?

EDIT

In Googling this question it seems this can happen when transferring to a flash drive(NTFS drive to a FAT drive ).. while it did not with my other two who knows, but I guess it's ok to click yes.

I would just click on yes and see what happens. Since the game uses actual photos, maybe there is something with them that won't transfer. You could always ask Mikael too.

I went ahead and did it and it worked ok same amount of data. Just a heads up the difference of the flash drive and hard drive (NTFS drive to a FAT drive )..

You can format your flash drive any way you want.
Larger flash drives made for Windows may come pre-formatted to NTFS.
Using FAT formatting will limit the size of the files you can put on the flash drive.

Well, now I have to decide if I want to remove my files and format my usb drive to NTFS. The FAT32 file system, which has a rather low limit for how large a file it can have. This limit is 4GB-1.
Thanks for the info Jenny.

This is indeed a FAT/NTFS compatibility problem. But you can safely ignore it and click "yes". It most likely refers to some data that has been written to your hard drive while downloading the game (so called metadata), which can't be transferred to you FAT drive. The game will be completely playable without this data.
