That's a clever one, but would you believe my answer's only 6 letters long?

To increase your chances of finding my intended solution, printing out the puzzle (and trimming off everything outside the puzzle border) could help you turn up some ideas.

What? May I please see an explanatory graphic? This was the BEST kind of puzzle - the kind I carried around with me. But I never got close to that answer. And how did that hint help?

Sue, if you print out and trim the puzzle, then fold the right and left edges back along the little vertical lines between 0-3,3-6, etc. then turn it over, right in the middle by #3 is the IX (nine) made of c's and a's. This was a toughie! But I like it!

I printed it out! I trimmed the edges! I NEVER thought to turn it over.
