Starting with the four-letter word, build a succession of words to end up with the five-letter word. Letters from the five-letter word are given to the four-letter words and unnecessary letters are taken off of the five-letter words.
For example; Starting with "VEST" add an "O" from "SHORT" and anagram for "STOVE". Drop the "V" from "STOVE" and anagram to get "TOES"...etc
