Look, chief, I know you've been out here surviving for three or four days now, which for us caterpillars is an eternity. But can you explain again why you're disguising yourself as food?

In the jungle we call this Mint Charmin.

"Jane, I can't quite see what's on that leaf, can you?"

Here we have a photo of the endangered evergreen caterpillar. Unlike the chameleon caterpillar, it does not do well in the autumn.

But in the end, Flotsam's "Why you should always wash your lettuce leaves" caught my fancy

...and that was a fantastic picture, one of the best examples of natural camouflage I have seen (and there are some remarkable ones out there).
