6. Under African Skies - Paul Simon catrub

I don't recall the Jefferson Airplane track at 1: is that a version of the Buffalo Springfield song For What It's Worth (which I note from a quick search is wrongly attributed to Jefferson Airplane in at least one youtube clip)?

Re: Not Necessarily Intros - 07/31/20 03:28 PM

Good call, Lex! smile

Yes, it was Bufflao Springfield, and I must admit for a long time I too thought it was called "Stop Children, What's that Sound"

Re: Not Necessarily Intros - 08/01/20 03:10 PM

I didn't know that, Lex. Thanks for the info. smile

The other artist I equated with this song was Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. I blame it on my faulty memory bank! lol

Michele Rose, you are quite right to think of Crosby Stills Nash and Young: Stephen Stills was in Buffalo Springfield and it was his song. blackkitty

2. I think this is Bill Haley and the Comets - Rock around the Clock

I'll be back for the last one tomorrow if no one else gets it.

Re: Not Necessarily Intros - 08/03/20 12:52 AM

...and you were both correct! smile

Just been watching an absolutely fascinating documentary on Laurel Canyon and all the groups and singers that lived there in the 60s and 70s. Strongly advise catching it if it comes around again
