Word Chain - 02/28/21 05:15 PM

The following clues form a word chain. The last three letters of one word or phrase form the first three letters of the next word, and the list wraps round from the last word to the first. Mostly straightforward with the odd one needing the Stitchionary, but there may be one or two hyphenated words, alternative spellings or short phrases in there, and remember it was compiled by a Brit. I'll take them, Bernie. I had "panoramic" but I guess "pandemic" as an adjective means "sweeping (as in a pandendic illness")

Good calls! grin

Nicely tidied up, everybody! bravo

oldbroad, as Sherlock tactfully pointed out, you were right and I was wrong (as ever!) lol I was so pleased to be able (as I thought) to use "angstrom" again that I couldn't be bothered with trivia like spelling oops - another "Rog-up"

Re: Word Chain - 03/02/21 10:12 PM

Rog, I don't even know what "Stitchionary" means but I did see Orangutang in Wiktionary when I Googled, so... lol

A former mod here was Stitchman and some of his words fit squarely in the "iffy spelling" category. We'd say he was using a Stitchionary. smile

Re: Word Chain - 03/03/21 01:53 AM

Ah, thanks for that info Pandora. I actually Googled the word thinking it might have some meaning such as "iffy spelling" (stitching some additional letters on to a word).
