I think these directions are from the actors perspective

How about enter stage left/right (depending upon perspective)?

Maybe, backstage?

Exit/enter stage right/left will do the trick(s)!

Having done some acting in my day, left and right are from the actors' point of view.

That was what I thought I remembered from panto and other amateur dramatics several decades ago...
