Oh, hello John, we are fine, how about you?

Doing great, taking my lunch break in fact.

Oh that's nice, I know you like to get a way from the office when you can.

Say sweetie, did the kids help you make my lunch today?

Vowing to set the alarm 15 minutes earlier on the mornings she needs to make her lunch, Jill hopes to avoid the embarrassment of biting into the plastic cheese wrapper again.

(You laugh, but I have actually done this before. I have also forgotten to peel off the little piece of paper that keeps the cheese slices separated. It's really embarrassing if anybody is watching you when you take the first bite.)

And if that wasn't bad enough, the crusts weren't even properly trimmed.

Well, for a brief, scary moment, I was thinking "JAWS" !!

I never tire of watching the original "Jaws", flotsam ....and so that bite shape is absolutely seared into my consciousness !!

This was my husband's idea of a marriage proposal. Attached was a card that said, "Won't chew be mine forever?" Unfortunately, my engagement ring was wedged in the sandwich, and I didn't realize it until after I had swallowed. I'm not sure why, but I married him anyway... after my surgery.

My mother still apologizes for the time she made a more-plastic-than-usual cheese sandwich for me, and I was younger then than my daughter is now.
