Common Phrases – Bonus Puzzle

Common Phrases – Bonus Puzzle - 05/30/22 08:41 PM

I had a go at creating one of these grids. Some of these are likely not original, yet two or three might be unique. (A tip of the hat to Pandora, for her reviews and guidance.)

These are all representations of words, places or things. Can you figure them out? The restriction of one solve per person has expired.

Hints Time

#2 One word

#3 Two words

#5 Two words

Also, for #3, I'd tried a variety of "glass" fonts, but none of them rendered well at small sizes. Think of the letters at the top as completely translucent.

Re: Common Phrases – Bonus Puzzle - 06/03/22 04:55 PM

The video is not available Lex but my thinking had been along that line. I think I even figured out the 0 and 1 now - trailing by 1 as in a baseball game which is what the clue reminded me of? Anyway...

Re: Common Phrases – Bonus Puzzle - 06/03/22 05:30 PM

Oldbroad the video link was to a song by Jeremy Taylor (I have now replaced it with a different one) dealing with South African pronunciation, as Australian pronunciation was a feature of Helmer's 5 (as well as Cricket scores, the reference presumably being to Ian Botham) smile

Hah. That video says it is from a performance at a place about 2 miles from where I live.
