Unfortunately I didn't have the chance to participate to this yearly Jam this time, because of the release of my new game, but I know a couple of creators who got involved and did great things.
I would, among others, recommend trying:
- Me and the Robot:
https://gamejolt.com/games/meandtherobot/493241Created by Esmeralda and Kikimora, it's a traditional point and click adventure with a nice story and good gameplay mecanics, and the graphics are neat. You'll want to discover what happens in this spaceship and the defective robotic AI that holds the future of humanity! It's funny, the main room of the ship somehow reminded me of the Ark spaceship in my game ASA, so I liked it a lot. It was made with Visionaire Studio, the engine that I have been using since 2014, and it shows once again that it is very good for small/indie teams!
- Homecoming:
https://gamejolt.com/games/Homecoming/492067Created by Juanjo Barcelo Molina, one of my friends at The Icehouse collective. It's a 1st-person adventure, quite short but still interesting and immersive. The graphics are really stunning for a game made in no time, and he used some impressive shaders (the opening of the breach, the "stargate"...) that's really awesome. As I said the story is short but you'll find a few varied gameplay elements and a puzzle to solve. It was developed with Unity and the music was composed by artist Python Blue specifically for the game.
I have no doubt that there are other great games that were made and I will try to discover them furthermore when I have more time. I'd be happy to read your thoughts too!
Looking forward to see the winners and play them.
Thanks Ana for posting about it!
