My email icon is missing, I can look at Outlook mail but can not see my gmail account, where the majority of my mail goes. How can I get the icon back non desktop?
Brick walls do not a prison make, nor iron bars a cage. Give no thought of tomorrow, today was tomorrow and tomorrow will be today.

Depends on which browser you are using. Since Gmail is a web-based email app, you will need to drag the URL from your address bar to your desktop. Just go to your Gmail account and log in. See if you can drag the little icon to the left of the URL to your desktop. This is how you do it in Firefox... https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/create-desktop-shortcut-website

Thank you Draclvr, that worked. I also put one in the Task Bar.
