Hi Guys

I downloaded this game from Steam a while ago and started playing it, I had sound when playing the game, but left it to play another game, during this time I have had a couple of updates for Windows 10 and now when I have gone back to it, the game runs but I have no sound, I have uninstalled it and downloaded it from my Steam Library again but I still get the same results, no sound, as anyone else come across the problem.

I tried emailing the links on the Steam Website but I did not get any response.

See if you can figure out whether Windows 10 "updated" your audio drivers. Maybe check in Device Manager or run dxdiag for the date on the audio drivers.

Do you get sound outside of the game?
Do you get sound in other games?

Sorry for the late response, major sporting weekend over here in England.

I have sound on other games, checked the dxdiag and no recent updates to my sound card.

I have just finished playing Shardlight, and I have the same problem with that,the only difference was that I could play the game with sound, save it, but then when I started the game later, I had not sound, so I had to uninstall it, keeping my saved games, then installing it again, which was very tiresome.

I also have this problem with The Order of Throne, which I downloaded from another site.

Do you know of any patches or anyone else who may have the same problem.

I think Shardlight, Order of the Thorne, and Charnel Trilogy all use the (Adventure Game Studio) AGS game engine. Maybe a Windows 10 update caused an incompatibility with AGS.

You might try contacting the developers of those games and ask if they know what might be causing the problem -- or at least if other people using Windows 10 are having the same issue.

Also, if Windows 10 has a compatibility mode, you might see if running the games with Windows 7 compatibility makes the sound work properly.

The developers of the individual games are usually more helpful with tech support.

I tried running The Order of Throne as administrator and that is now working with sound, I will try the compatibility mode for Charnel House Trilogy to see if that works as I dont have the option to run that as adminstrator.

Thanks for telling us Compatibility Mode worked for you with Order of the Thorne.
Hopefully it will work for the other games too.
