Hi Chuck, Find and open the Cognition _ Episode 1 saved game folder. Check what is the last number in that saved game folder. Download the 4 files I sent (2 each for one saved game). Relabel the files with the same number as the last number of your saved folder. Then do the other 2 - make them the last numbers. Place those 4 renumbered files inside the open Cognition _ Episode 1 saved game folder. Close all folders and play-load as usual. Be sure to be careful about the spaces - no spaces.

Chuck, have you tried drag & drop, instead of copy/paste?
Also, if you have Windows 7 and after, the correct folder should be (this is the location saved directed from my Windows 7 laptop) C:\Users\YOU\AppData\LocalLow\Phoenix Online Studios\Cognition _ Episode 1
*where it says YOU would be your specific windows username*

Chuck, everybody has a username for windows, unless you have an old version such as ME. I think XP was the first that did, though I could be wrong because it's been years since I've used XP. I know positively that atleast Vista did. (most newer versions if you have only one account, it will automatically load that when you turn the computer on.) There are actually 4 ways to locate your username, you don't have to do all, but just so you can learn them incase you would want to do some of the others some time, I will list them all. 1. Click on the windows button in your computer's lower left corner. The start menu will have 2 columns. The left most one will have some of your programs such as your browser and other things of that nature. Next to that is another panel, which has the same background color as your bottom task bar (the bar that runs along the bottom of your screen, some people call it task bar, so call it program bar, my dad once called it the icon bar) This will have folder names such as My Computer, My Documents and things like that. Now, at the very top of this panel will be your user name and the user picture you have set in the computer's control panel. I went ahead an made a screencap and circled my username in red to show you what to look for: http://i68.tinypic.com/2hdcwg3.jpg2. The next way you can also find the username is open up the computer's Control Panel. This is done by clicking the start button. On the right-side panel (like directed above) about half-way down you'll see Control Panel. The Control Panel can be viewed 2 different ways: by Category and by Icons. I have my set to be viewed by Category. In the category view, it is set up in 2 columns. On the right side, the top one is listed as USER ACCOUNTS & FAMILY SAFETY. Click the name of the category, then click User Accounts. Inside the user accounts, you can change information (such as password, user picture, account name and account type). When you go to this area, whatever user account you're logged into is what will automatically load. 3. Another way is to pull up MY COMPUTER through the start menu (this is in the right panel just like Control Panel). In my computer, go to Local Drive (C:), then near the bottom, open the folder labeled Users. If you have only one user account, there will be 3 folders here (one is hidden unless you have the hidden files and folders viewable, I will list how to do that below). In users, the folders you'll have is Default (this is the hidden one), Public and whatever your user account is. 4. Now this section isn't to specifically find the user name, but to get into the hidden folder I had eluded to in my earlier post about the game save folder. Go to your start menu and click the username at the top (as directed in the first option) There is a hidden folder which is only viewable once you've set the hidden files & folders to be viewable. To do that: Go to the control panel. In the search bar at the top of the window type Folders. 3 options will appear: Sync Center, Folder Options and HomeGroup. Under Folder Options, click Show hidden files and folder. When the folder options window pops up, the second category is Hidden files and folders (this is about half-way down). By default, windows has the Don't show hidden files, folders or drives selected. Just click the bubble next to Show hidden files, folders and drives, then click Apply and then OK. Now, in the window that popped up when you clicked the username in the start menu, there's a hidden folder (which is a little faded compared to your others such as Downloads, for instance) called AppData. Open that and there's 3 subfolders: Local, LocalLow and Roaming. Some programs and games save info here. To locate the saved folder I linked in my previous post, open LocalLow. Now, most people use their first name for their windows user account, after this long explaination, I am assuming yours will probably be Chuck. If all of this didn't help, or you have any questions, feel free to ask

Chuck, Following NDLVR's folder info - C:\Users\YOU\AppData\LocalLow\Phoenix Online Studios\Cognition _ Episode 1: - Open C drive. - Open Users folder in that folder. - Open your computer's name - I think you named it Chuck. - Open the AppData folder. - Open LocalLow folder. - Open Phoenix Online folder. - Open Cognition_Episode 1 folder. - The save files should be in there.

Chuck, have you set the hidden files & folders to be viewable in the folder options? The instructions I listed before for this were how to do it on windows 7, since that's what I have and know. I did run a google search on how to do it with windows 8: https://kb.wisc.edu/page.php?id=27479

Chuck, I found a post MaG had replied to when someone asked about saved games locations, and it may help you. C:\Users\YourUserName\Saved Games
Since you'd said your username is Chuck, try this: C:\Users\Chuck\Saved Games
Also, a few other folders to look at are: C:\Program Files C:\Program Files (x86) C:\Program Data

Seems like not many Gameboomers bought the Amazon version. Assuming none of the suggested search locations work, you can try doing a search for the word cognition
The Windows search often excludes "protected" areas, so if you use that, make sure it is searching your entire computer.
One thing you can do is try a search from the command line. First you need a command line with administrative access. If you use a regular command window instead of a command window with administrative privilege, it won't have the rights to search your entire computer.
One way to do this on Windows 7 is to do a search for the command window using the three-letter word for it:
cmd
using the Start Search. When it finds cmd.exe, right-click cmd.exe and choose to "Run as Administrator" from the context menu. You may have to enter a password for an administrative account.
That should give you a command line with Administrative privilege.
Enter the command cd \ That should get you to your root folder (probably C:\ ) Then enter the command dir cognition*.* /s That should search all folders and subfolders for the file or folder name cognition. The " /s" searches subfolders. Make sure to leave the space between what you're searching for and the /s or it might not work. The .* makes sure to include file names and all extensions. The *.* will find file names like cognition1.sav, cognition2.sav, etc. if they exist.
This will also work in Windows 8 and 10, though the procedure for opening an administrative command window may vary.

Chuck, try looking here for the saved games:
C:\Users\User Name\AppData\LocalLow\Phoenix Online Studios\Cognition I have the GOG version and mine is like Marian suggested except for the final folder: C:\Users\User Name\AppData\LocalLow\Phoenix Online Studios\Cognition _ Episode 1 Also, the search that Jenny suggested would not find my saved games, as they do not contain "cognition". I have 3 files in that folder: 001_01 Start.png 001_01 Start.sav AutoSave.sav 01 Start is the name I gave to my manual save.

I have the GOG version and mine is like Marian suggested except for the final folder:
C:\Users\User Name\AppData\LocalLow\Phoenix Online Studios\Cognition _ Episode 1
Also, the search that Jenny suggested would not find my saved games, as they do not contain "cognition". If you can find the save folder, you should be able to find the saves. Of course the saves won't be called "cognition" but a search for the word "save*.*" would bring up results for every other game you have that has saves with the word "save" in the title. Searching only for cognition*.* will narrow the results -- you'll probably get the game install location, but hopefully little else other than the save game location. The search for cognition*.* should find any file or folder with the word "cognition" in it. If you don't use the stars, you'll miss anything like Cognition_Episode that is something other than simply "cognition." As long as you are doing the search from the root folder (C:\ ), are using a command window with administrative privilege, and use the /s switch to search subfolders, the search for "cognition" should find "cognition_episode". Marita gave explicit instructions on how to find C:\Users\YOU\AppData\LocalLow\Phoenix Online Studios\Cognition _ Episode 1: earlier in this thread. Chuck,
Following NDLVR's folder info - C:\Users\YOU\AppData\LocalLow\Phoenix Online Studios\Cognition _ Episode 1:
- Open C drive. - Open Users folder in that folder. - Open your computer's name - I think you named it Chuck. - Open the AppData folder. - Open LocalLow folder. - Open Phoenix Online folder. - Open Cognition_Episode 1 folder. - The save files should be in there. Chuck was unable to find the folder using Marita's instructions. That suggests the folder is somewhere else, or is called something else, or is in a subfolder called something else. I think we can assume Chuck knows to replace the "YOU" with his username, and he indicated that he found the AppData folder. So unless someone who bought the Amazon version can tell us where their save folder is, it will probably have to be found with a search. You can do a Search using Windows or using the command line, but I've had more luck using the command line. Either way, I suggest searching for cognition*.* and not save*.* Or it's possible you don't need the *.* on the end using the Windows Search. Unless someone with the Amazon version of the game can tell us where their save folder is, I think the save folder will have to be found with some sort of a search. I have 3 files in that folder:
001_01 Start.png 001_01 Start.sav AutoSave.sav
01 Start is the name I gave to my manual save. Assuming the Amazon version also numbers its saves in this way, you could search for 001_01*.* and that might be a unique enough numbering system to find the exact saves. Another possible way to search is by date and time. You'd have to use the Windows Search for that. Go into the game, make a new save, exit, and use the Windows Search for very recently created files.
