Knowledge is knowing a tomato is a fruit; wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad.

MILES KINGTON

`````````````````````````
A first-grade teacher can’t
believe her student isn’t hepped up about the Super Bowl. “It’s a huge event. Why aren’t you excited?”
“Because I’m not a football fan. My parents love basketball, so I do too,” says the student.
“Well, that’s a lousy reason,” says the teacher. “What if your parents were morons? What would you be then?”
“Then I’d be a football fan.”
```````````````````````````

After football fans in Philadelphia were treated to a particularly excruciating loss earlier in the season, a man phoned a sports-radio talk-show host to say, “Everyone should call in and give one word for that game.”

“What’s your word?” the host
replied.

“Bored out of my mind,” said the caller.

````````````````````````````
Three fans were bemoaning the sorry state of their football team.
“I blame the general manager,” said the first fan. “If he signed better players, we’d be a great team.”
“I blame the players,” said the
second fan. “If they made more of
an effort, we’d score some points.”
“I blame my parents,” said the third. “If I’d been born in Seattle,
I’d be supporting a decent team.”
`````````````````````````````````

The topic of my student’s essay was the importance of trust, camaraderie, and toughness among football
players. “After all,” he wrote, “you don’t want a bunch of pre-Madonnas out there on the field.”

``````````````````````
I recently stumbled upon
my favorite new sports team. It’s
a woman’s bowling squad called
I Can’t Believe It’s Not Gutter.
````````````````````````

Two campers are hiking in the woods when one is bitten on the rear end by a rattlesnake. “I’ll go into town for a doctor,” the other says. He runs ten miles to a small town and finds the only doctor delivering a baby.

“I can’t leave,” the doctor says. “But here’s what to do. Take a knife, cut a little X where the bite is, suck out the poison and spit it on the ground.”

The guy runs back to his friend, who is in agony. “What did the doctor say?” the victim cries.

“He says you’re gonna die.”

`````````````````````
During graduate school, I tutored a football player in Psychology 101. After the session, my supervising professor asked me if I was interested in the student, since he was a good-looking athlete.
“No, I’m not,” I assured him.
“Yeah, you probably prefer men who eat quiche,” he joked.
“Actually, I prefer men who can spell quiche.”
```````````````````````````````

“I was playing chess with my friend, and he said, ‘Let’s make this more interesting.’ So we stopped playing chess.”

````````````````````
When my 15-year-old son, Pat, stepped up to the plate during a Colt League baseball game, the young announcer declared, “Now batting, the right fielder, number 12, Pathogen!” After some confusion in the stands, the announcer came back on over the loudspeaker. “Oh, I get it — Pat Hogan!”
``````````````````````````

A Republican and a Democrat were walking down the street when they came to a homeless person. The Republican gave him his business card and told him to stop by for a job. He then took $20 out of his pocket and handed it to him.

The Democrat was impressed, and when they came to another homeless person, he decided it was his turn to help. So he reached into the Republican’s pocket and gave the homeless man $50.

`````````````````````````````
Good morning everyboomie. welcome
Good news. If you're reading this, you probably woke up alive today. thumbsup
I've seen spiders here at Gameboomers, but never any ghost. lol
But then you probably wouldn't see a ghost would you? headscratch
I get to work two days now before my next three days of play. yes
It's hard to call it play when you spend three hours installing games, and only 30 minutes of playing. frown
I've been trying to replay a lot of my games, and having trouble getting many of them to play at all, and I'm talking about three different laptops. One of them an ASUS gaming laptop. smirk
I have managed to replay Beyond Atlantis 1 & 2, Aura, Syberia 1 & 2, and today I started Keepsake, and Omega Stone. bravo
I've enjoyed getting back into those games after being away from them for years.
Have a happy day everyone.
Good morning everyone, have a Great TGIF. Robert went back to work this week. The heat and humidity are taking their toll on him. It will take time for him to get used to it again. Dinner and karaoke at the VFW tonight with friends. Danish, BB Pancakes, Muffins, and Bacon Sandwiches in the NC. summer
Fantastic Friday ya'll puppy
We are under a heat advisory. I don't need anyone to advise me to stay inside. Memory is going, but there is still some common sense rolling around in there. rotfl
Joe, glad you are able to play some. Have fun at work!
Ana, Haroula wavegirl
Midgy, enjoy you hair appointment. Getting a new do?
Another glorious day here in San Diego. The weather guys have been predicting HIGH heat for everywhere except where I live (along the coastal region). I'm sure they are right. We are about 72 right now with a lovely sunny sky and cool ocean breeze, BUT inland, just 5 miles, it's already high 80's and climbing. They are predicting high 90's for everyone except me. I love living here! My nine year stint in the desert (115 miles away) was fun but way too hot. They are predicting 125 (yes, not a typo) for today. I lived there, I know what that feels like. At night it might cool down to 98 and it never lets up. Hot hot hot. At least everything was air conditioned. Here...no air conditioning, don't need it except for maybe 5 or so days in a year and it wouldn't be worth the cost of the unit plus the electricity. When it gets like that, I just go shopping. rotfl
WARNING! This person is extremely blonde...please type SLOWLY.
That's a great way to handle it, Sorta. I remember when I was little the only thing with AC was the movie theater. wave
