Even if they caught them, more would just take their place. Coyotes are very wily and intelligent animals and adapt quickly to new and easy food sources such as people who allow their pets to run loose. There is a very good chance this coyote is trying to feed young pups. They are just doing what wild animals do - try to stay alive. Have you contact your animal control to see if they can trap or kill them?
No, they cannot climb fences, but if there is a way to get under one, they will find it. If there is any way to keep your animals inside and watch them carefully outside, that's about the only thing you can do. I live out in the country and coyotes and foxes are always around - we lose several chickens every year even though we watch them carefully. We have also had a mink kill chickens. When we live in THEIR territory, they will take advantage!

We have tons of coyotes where I live. Nothing much you can do about it, they just tell you to watch your dogs.

Our news was just talking about foxes in areas where there are lots of abandoned houses...who knew?

Guardian llamas or even guardian donkeys. We have both down at Longmeadow Rescue Ranch and have had donkeys kill invaders in their pasture - such as a skunk! They were stinky, but they got the job done. We recently had a miniature donkey adopted to be a guard for a flock of goats.
