Carol's window 7 64 bit updates stopped working... I could see the updates but when I tried to install it would just spin and spin.. after spending forever on the internet trying to figure out how to fix this.. I ended up running a new windows update file.. I now am seeing an error message 80244019... any ideas as to what I can try next

The bug with Windows 7 updates taking forever may be solved with KB 3161647 and KB 3161608, but you may need to download and install them manually rather than using Windows update.
Check "Woody on Windows" for the news...

The error 80244019 may be related.
According to

Quote:
Error code: 0x80244019 indicates that the computer was able to connect to the Windows server, but was not able to find what was requested. This error is usually fixed by running the Windows Updates again.

Note that when manually installing updates if Windows update stalls you may need to kill the Wusa.exe from the task manager.

I can't believe Microsoft.... they are getting so aggressive now with their last pitch for windows 10.. I did some updates tonight and the system stated I had to restart my computer... so I clicked ok... went to the kitchen and came back to a pink screen... with the very large words stating... sorry but this is very important!!!! last chance to upgrade to windows 10 before July 29.. click ok to update.....
I mean REALLY!!!!!! They sure are pushing this~!

Gee, did they think you hadn't figured out yet that you WEREN'T going to upgrade? Sheesh. I know they are being aggressive, but they are also burning some bridges here too. Very dumb.

I upgraded a year ago and while there are things to work out, I love it. But that's no excuse to try to force it down people's throats.

Did you install update KB3173040? It is one that I hid maybe 2 weeks ago.
