The Eyes of Ara, the captivating Adventure-Puzzle game from one-man Aussie development studio 100 Stones Interactive has just launched on Steam and the Humble Store. Check out flotsam's First Look here. Check out the trailer here. Steam Page: http://store.steampowered.com/app/454250/Humble Page: https://www.humblebundle.com/store/the-eyes-of-ara Set in a remote and supposedly abandoned castle, the player is tasked with investigating the source of a mysterious radio signal that has recently begun broadcasting from somewhere within its ancient walls. Dark and unsettling tales have been told of the castle for generations, and none of the locals will dare set foot inside. So an unfortunate contractor has been called in to do the job, and it's now up to them to sort out the fact from the fiction, find the source of the signal, and uncover the truth.
The Eyes of Ara arrives after three years in development and a successful Kickstarter campaign. Unsurprisingly, it has received a lot of attention for its beautiful visuals. What is surprising is the size of the team: 100 Stones Interactive is comprised of just one man, Ben Droste. "After three years in development, it's thrilling to finally launch the game and see people enjoying it” he said, “I wanted to make a game in which the world itself was the main character. A world that captivates people and inspires them to explore every last corner.”
With the game now available players can do just that. “The story is told organically though the environment,” said Ben, “It’s up to the player to piece it all together themselves in order to solve the mystery.”
The Eyes of Ara is now available for Windows and Mac for $14.99 from Steam and the Humble Store.
About 100 Stones Interactive
100 Stones Interactive was founded by veteran Australian games developer Ben Droste, who established his one-man studio in 2013 after leaving the big publisher-backed studios to pursue life as an indie developer. The Eyes of Ara is his studio’s debut title, an Adventure-puzzle game about exploration, discovery, and the pursuit of knowledge in the face of fear and intimidation.
As the sole developer at 100 Stones Interactive, The Eyes of Ara is an impressive and largely one-man project. Ben explains: "Aside from the audio, The Eyes of Ara is the work of my own hands. An endeavour to establish myself as a completely independent developer".
Happy Gaming! Ana

Looking very good - but will there be a DRM Free version offered for us non-steamers?
It's not the years honey, it's the mileage!

This is a quote from the Kickstarter page. This at least applies to KS backers, I'm not sure about others. Thanks to everyone's amazing support The Eyes of Ara has been officially Greenlit! This means that everyone who pledges $10 or more for a copy of the game will have the option to claim their copy through Steam (a DRM free option will also be available though another distribution service). I sent a message to the developer, I'll keep you posted.

Hello everyone, Ben here, the developer behind The Eyes of Ara. I have been asked to clarify the situation with DRM free copies. Basically, I'm a one-person studio, so in order to keep things manageable for launch the game has initially been distributed just through Steam. I have now begun looking into getting DRM free versions out there (such as through Humble or GOG), and should have an update on that soon. Also, the game itself is actually DRM free, Steam is just used to distribute it. However I understand that a lot of people don't like using Steam at all, so I do want to make sure there are other options available to people. If you have any other questions or feedback on the game, feel free to ask

As I pledged in the Kickstarter I got sent a Steam key but I held off using that to wait for the DRM Free version to be released. And, having already pledged, I was then able to download the DRM Free from Humble at no extra cost I won't be playing it just yet though. Got too many games already on the go
