I was just googling for a link to some kind of Steam email subscription and learned that Valve doesn't operate this way but that they do have summer and winter sales, or occasionally throughout the year.
When are the major sales events at Steam? Sometimes I visit there every day for a while, then I may not go there for weeks.
Is the main store page the only place to see what sales there are, like today's weekend sale? Or perhaps the "news" tab? I have half a dozen games on my "Wish List" there but it would be nice to know when major sales are likely to occur.
I usually just check there everyday. If something on your wish list is on sale you will probably receive an email from them about it. I get them but it seems to be inconsistent. Sometimes I get one saying something on my wish list is on sale but when I go to Steam it isn't???
Googling this brought up a page for me saying that there was going to be a Steam Halloween sale starting October 29th, although it was unconfirmed. It might be worth keeping this date in mind, though, just in case it proves to be correct.
Thanks for your replies. I've bought a number of games from Steam but only recently added games to my wish list. I'll try to check there more often or do a google search for seasonal sales. Thank you all for your informative answers.
and, CaptainD, my game library IS expanding. Even though "Steam Support" isn't "supporting" too well, in general, my overall experience with the purchasing and downloading certainly IS. HAPPY GAMING! Sandy
