My husband bought some Jasmine flavored rice. Does anyone know if it actually tastes like flowers ?

No, it has a very slight floral smell when cooked and has a lightly (very faint) sweet/nutty taste. The name is one of those old world carry overs because of that aroma and it has less of the starchy flavor of most other rice, but it doesn't smell anything like real Jasmine. It's an excellent rice for fish and chicken dishes.

I feel a lot more like I do now, then when I first got here

My Oriental neighbor cooked only with Jasmine rice. She said it was the 'best'. She was an awesome cook. She probably was right.
