I've been playing one big long quest for the last couple of days and am at the point where I have no food and my weapons and armour are both broken, and I can't beat a foe to get through the quest. I really don't want to start all over again; it has been a hard slog. I've tried this battle on Easy, but this is an opponent who just heals himself right up to full strength, while I have nothing left to heal with and no decent weapons, so even on the easiest setting there is no chance.

Is there a cheat for this? God mode, or a cheat to give me a bunch of food or the ability to at least fix my armour and weapons? I just want to get past this bit so I can get on with the game. As with Witcher 2, this battle may actually stop me from continuing a game I was enjoying up to this point. this is ridiculous.

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Hagatha, GamePressure has the following cheats
Quote:
addabl('DamageBuff') - deal more damage

addabl('ForceCriticalHits') - each hit is a critical hit

dismember - dismembering a NPC

god - immortality

healme - regaining full health bar

killall - kill all enemies in Geralt's sight

killall x - kill all enemies in distance of x meters from Geralt. For example, killall 30 will kill all enemies that are no further than 30 meters from the witcher

There is also a list of commands at Steam with links to a debug mod...but I don't mod so I know nothing about it.

I hope that helps luck

What quest and foe are you up against?

Is there any way you can pull back and regroup/prep for the battle?

Thanks!

In the end I did manage to beat it (it was one of the Wild Hunt warriors) on what must have been my 30th try, though who knows how? I had no visible life left, so I just barely made it.

Those cheats will be handy because my tolerance for very difficult battles is limited these days. But-- dismembering an opponent? Hmmm. Let me think about that one...a lot...I must try it at least once. evil

I think I'm quite ready for another adventure.

Sometimes those "by a hair" battles can be the most satisfying.

So, how did you finally beat him in the end?

Basically left Keira to deal with him while Geralt ran away and healed up behind a pillar. Sometimes for whole minutes at a time.

Perfectly valid strategy. I've used the hit and run, then heal tactic more times than I can remember on bosses. Having a companion in the mix just aids the strategy. To make things more challenging in Skyrim when developing a warrior class character I sometimes gimp myself by not bringing any potions and role playing as a character who believes magic is something best left to the gods (e.g. traditional Nord) Lydia takes a heck of a beating in the first 15 or so levels when I do that. lol

I`d forgotten what it`s like to have a weak character, after playing a level 64 Character in Skyrim for the last month or so. I just bumped up my Axii, or whichever sign it is that stuns opponents. That usually does the trick, even with draconids (so far).

For some reason my Geralt can handle many things, but not Wraiths.

Also, I used my Wraith oil and now I have no recipe to make more. DO you have to buy a new recipe each time you want to make a potion.

If you have Alcohest or another alcohol spirit, you just need to meditate for an hour and all your alchemical stuff (potions, oils and so on) will be replaced.

No, what I mean is that for the potion I used, I no longer have the recipe in my Alchemy list, and I don't have the potion in my inventory, so there is no way to "replenish it" via meditation.

It's not a regular potion like Swallow; it's one of the long-lasting mutagen potions, specifically the Noon Wraith potion. I used it by mistake and now I have no way to make another because the recipe is no longer available to me. Are those potions one-offs? It doesn't make sense, but now I'm afraid to ever use one of these potions again.

There must be something I'm not understanding about this.

Is this the one to which you're referring?

Noonwraith Decoction

or is it one of the ingredients of the decoction?

Noonwraith Mutagen

On doing some searches it sounds like the alchemical/crafting inventory can be bugged. The other thing that seems to come up in the forums is the filters in the inventory. Apparently you sometimes need to work through them to make sure the recipe isn't being hidden.

Also found that Spectre Oil will work on Noonwraiths.

I must have not meditated for a few days of game play -- I tend to just heal with food and keep going and going and going and rarely use potions in combat. I decided to meditate today and "poof!" there was the potion.

Now that I understand the alchemy, I think it's really very good -- simple, and no constant searching for the right plants. I still have many potions to create, but most of them just need the right mutagen, as opposed to plants and such. I still grab anything new I see in my travels, but the common stuff I just pass by.

This is a huge game. I was going for Light armour until I realized how long it would take to get the Cat armour. I've got my full set of Griffin, to be upgraded as soon as possible. The Griffin swords aren't nearly as good as some of my others, and the armour is less than wonderful when compared with some of the other armour I found here and there. I just felt as though I should get with the program.

Great game so far.

I started Witcher 3 about a month ago, but haven't picked it up again for awhile. For some reason I always have a longer learning curve with the combat mechanics for the Witcher games, so tend to pick up old gaming stand-by's (e.g. Skyrim) between shorter game play sessions.

Speaking of which, I'm coming across the same Skyrim, few dragons bug you hit in this current play though and I have the More Dragons mod running, which is really odd. I also noticed that dungeons and loot are not respawning. The dragons that did respawn at their word wall roosts did not have souls when I took them down. Something is a foot, me thinks. smirk

Yeah, that dragon bug sort of defeated the whole underlying mythos of the game. Anyway, I feel as though I've done Skyrim for now. I completed the main quests, my kids and the dog are safely in my lake view home, watched over by Shadowmere and me steward, and the the Hero may rest on her laurels getting fat on venison stew and mead and boring the neighbours with endless stories about the time she single-handedly saved Skyrim.

No. I was able to carry all my stuff back to shore...very slowly.

I have tried dropping excess junk in the boat but it vanishes when you move away. Those boats are pretty flimsy, though. Harpies can take a chunk out of them, and if you bang the dock, boom, there's a hole. I sank my boat by hitting a barrel at low speed. Down it went. I swam down beside it and watched.
