Is anyone playing this game yet? I started the other day and I love it, however, I am stuck and can't seem to get through a certain part. I'm not sure how to explain it so I won't unless there is someone on the boards that is playing. Thanks.

Although this may put temptation in the path of players, I've just created a hints page for the game which can be found at the link below:

Hints page is very helpful but I'm still a little stuck. Where is Boo? I think I went around all available rooms, halls, gardens... I also can't find the telephone which I've seen in my previous rounds but at that time Ed had nobody to call to. Please help

The telephone is at the restaurant-bar where Grandpa is the bouncer.

Thank you MaG and Diamond, wave
It's clear for me with the telephone, I've met Grandpa already, but Broadstairs Chamber? I think I'm a little behind, I saw Smoos only in the rooms with the boxes, probably have to do something else at first. Going back. thanks

Springchicken,

I think you might have missed the exit to the right of the buildings to another area. The exit looks like a railroad bar.
Love the game. It was fun after I got used to hiding from Snoozles the blaster.

I tried this exit once and it was locked, going to try it again now, may be after stabilizing the vortex it'll be open. I like this game too, it's fun and very forgiving on the easy level. wave

Now I'm in the storage room with the robots trying to set EMP mine. After pressing E key nothing changed with robots and no interaction was possible. What am I doing wrong? Where should be Ed? I placed him next to the robot in the bigger upper room. think

Edit: Please disregard this question, I got the power cell. smile

The gliding regular robots - use the EMP when they are at least bunched together.
The red robots need a upgraded EMP, I think.
The spiked bombs can be removed with the ground mines.

Thanks for helping us here, Steve. My memory is never good if I don't write it down. lol and I didn't do it for this game. Just played and ENJOYED it.

Sorry, did the last one in a rush - putting together the latest Mr. Smoozles strip.

Once you have fixed the red key you can get into the factory, which is where the white key card is and the next Vortex.

I need some more hints please. 1. How can I reach the key in the vortex? Where in the factory is the white card? I had some fun blasting the robots and spiked bombs, powered one computer in the factory, didn't get anything useful from it yet. Thank you. wave

Sorry, I read the post earlier. Thought about the answer and I really thought I posted it.

The key in the factory is on a wall above sunken floor where the teleporter is located.

Stabilize the vortex and the key will appear in another place; then you can pick it up. smile

MaG,
I know I want too much from you, but I'm still stuck. I need to stop the vortex to get the key. I collected all pink crystals I could find and it's not full yet. I saw one more crystals in the room which I can't reach. I need the white card to open the door. This card is somewhere in the factory. It's like a circle - I need the last crystal to get the key but I need white card to get the last crystal. Could you remember where is white card? It's taking all fun away to be stuck so often. Sorry for my complaining. frown blush

There are enough Vortex Fragments in the Factory to fill the Vortex Core. There are two in the small room in which Gladys is working.

Hi Springchicken,

This is the place that Steve mentioned with the fragments:

There's one on the left and there should be one under the metal ramp to bottom right.

This is where you get the green card:

These is where you get the white card:

Hope that helps.

Thank you very much MaG and Steve,
I got that last crystal from under the ramp ( the barrier stopped me from going under the ramp before). Thanks a lot MaG for the pictures, now I know that I didn't get to the room with the white card yet, still need the key. MaG, you wrote
[QUOTE] Stabilize the vortex and the key will appear in another place; then you can pick it up.
I stabilized the vortex and the key was still on the same unreachable part of the wall. I returned through the portal back. Maybe I just should waite for the WT, it seems this game is too much for me. praise

When you stabilise the Vortex it closes down when you next leave and places the key item in the "real" world (in the Reactor room).

Just to clarify - when you filled up the red jewel collector - He will say that it is now filled up.
Then go back to the vortex. Place that filled collector where you got it from.
Exit the vortex and the vortex closes.
You can then hunt for the key wherever it landed in the real world.

I'm a little stuck in the sewer.I powered 2 consoles there, talked to the Rat but didn't get any bait. I didn't find the console which needs the code. Where is it? Activated some of the green lights. The one on the right from the gate didn't respond. think think

When you have fitted the two power cells in the sewer you need to interact with the two buttons near each one quickly enough to turn on the red buttons on either side of the gate. You then need to interact with both of these buttons within a short time to open the gate.

Ok, help please. I cannot get out the gateway to the right in the village.

I think I have done everything I can do. I am currently trying to fix the red key. The village gateway says I need a password, but so far, I can't find it.

This is the same password you need to destroy the mines near Pru, which you get from Stu. Just a minute, if you have the red key you should already have this password.

I installed the displacer upgrade for reality enabler, need the deactivation code for turning off the force field in the broken garden, which I'm supposed to get from the console in the sewer. But it doesn't work. Maybe some other console or I missed something else to do? Thank you. think

There is a new version of the game that fixes this problem. Download and install it from the Juniper Games site and load up yourlast save game before entering the prison.

Hi Steve,

Just checking before I do this.

The new version of the game is the one that says, "Download Mr. Smoozles Goes Nutso (15.2 MB)"

Will I need my registration key for this new version?

I don't need to move my saves to a different folder before doing this? My saves should still work after upgrading?

Thanks

Yes, that's the one. I just replaced the previous file with this one. Just install to the same directory. Whether you should move your save files first depends on how paranoid you feel - sometimes I think that my computer is out to make my life hard and always err on the side of caution. smile

Your save game files will work with this version.

I need to fix the red key, and I need a power cell (I think from one of the functioning robots) to do that. But whenever I try to "interact" with a functioning robot, it just shoots me.

I wish the robots were a little more cuddly.

I also have acquired software to hack into Watford's computer files (and Ed seemed like such a law-abiding young cat -- you just never know) but Watford's computer won't cooperate with me. It just sits there, ignoring my use of the "enter" key.

You need to get an EMP mine to take out the robots. You can then interact with them and take their power cells (one at a time).

If you already have the phone number from Watford's computer you won't be able to interact with it again. Did you get the password from Watford himself?

Hey Diamond --

I don't think I have an EMP mine -- how do I get one?

I'm pretty sure I got the computer password from Watford. I also have the phone card. But when I tried to place the phone call, for some reason the call didn't go through. (I should have written down why it didn't work.)

I'll go back and try the telephone again.

If you have the phone number and the phone card you should get a message from an answer machine.

You get the EMP mine from the stores, but you need a chit from Boo in order to do so.

Ok, I can't find enough Vortex Fragments in the factory to fill the Vortex Core. Actually looking in my inventory, it looks like all the bars are full, yet I can't use it in the Reality Vortex. Oh, and yes, I got the one under the ramp already.

Legolas, when you have enough, you'll get a message saying that. It sounds like you need 1 more.

Have you backtracked to all previous locations? I did not write down where they all were, but I do remember they were scattered throughout.

Well, I'm seriously stuck still. I finally took a wide open look at game's Hint page, and I think what I need to do is to find the Reality Vortex.

Somehow, I've misplaced it, or to be more accurate, it has completely escaped me.

Oooh -- there's more than one?

I need an upgrade for the Reality Enabler. I've made it through the red door into the pit already, and one of the consoles tells me that I need an upgrade for Reality Enabler.

I haven't found the white key or the yellow key yet, and there's a locked door in the Corset Maker's Building and a locked door near the two wandering bombs in the pit that I can't get through.

I just picked up some fish gills, but they don't unlock doors. So far.

I've revisited every character in the game (I think) and none will say anything new to me. The dog seems to be in denial. Hmmm. I don't think I've tried the fish gills on him yet. Or maybe they go in the fountain....

Becky, you have a lot to do in the Factory before you get the white and yellow key cards. There's a Vortex Portal in the first lava room.

Becky,

The Reality Vortex entrance looks like a square with laser beams. Step in that square to get to a Reality Vortex.

The locked door at the Cafe-bar is not opened in the game.
The locked door with the bombs, I think that is the white key door.

Fish gills - talk to the lady proprietor of the shop. You'll know what fish gills are for.

Have you tried to work the computer again at the prison?

Running out right now to try the fish gills in the fountain. Will save first.

Okay, will look for the Vortal Portal, I mean Vortex Portal in the lava room. Thanks!

I think the white key door is the one in the room that says that it leads to the sewers. I was thinking of leaving that until last, as the entrance to the sewers looks disgusting. Of course, it's mute at the moment because I don't have the key. I mean moot. The locked door in the pit is just a locked door without a matching color. (It's a Plain Vanilla Portal.)

You mean we never get to play Snooker? I was thinking that maybe one of the alien's beds was actually the Snooker table.

I wanted to see Ed in a tux.

The lady proprietor will talk to me NOW? Now that I've stolen her gills?

I try the computer at the prison every time I stop in. Will try it again, though. Maybe somebody in prison will have something to say about the fish gills before I dump them in the fountain.

Sigh. It's so pleasant having so much left still to do. razz

Yep, you have lots to do and find. Are you playing with hints on?

Have you found the

<span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text"> secret room yet? I was totally stuck there. </span></span>

Hey -- nothing happened with the fish gills and the fountain!

<span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">Guess what those purple shimmery cloud things turned out to be? I had been assuming they were force field shields, and wondered why Mr. Smoozle's guns kept reaching me even through the shield.</span></span>

Not playing with Hints on. (Can't you tell?) lol

Taking a peek at the Spoiler now....

<span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">I don't THINK so. I've found the gang's bedrooms, but that's not what you mean, is it?</span></span>

One thing that did get me stuck for awhile -- I had accidentally hit the "Caps Lock" key, and then the Y/N function wouldn't work! And when I hit "Escape" while in the Save menu, it asked me if I wanted to explode something.

<span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">BTW -- what is the correct command for exploding mines? I've forgotten it already.</span></span>

You press enter next to a mine and disable it. Not sure if that is what you are asking. For EMPs, you press the E key.

Becky, I was bad. I was just teasing you about the fish gills. I never used them for anything.

Yes, I was talking about the gang's bedrooms. Glad you found them.

Are you still stuck?

Not stuck anymore, just feeling a bit sheepish.

I was secretly hoping that the gills would help me breath under water. Tried dumping them in the dwarf's pond too. I have used them now, actually, but not in a way I expected.

<span class="spoiler_containter"><span class="spoiler_wording">Click Here For A Spoiler</span><span class="spoiler_text">They can be traded for something.</span></span>

Legolas -- thanks, will try the E key. It may not have worked earlier because I had Caps Lock on.

I might have picked up a hint or two about the purple cloud from that dog also. Amazing how little information I can take in sometimes! laugh

I guess I'm the only one playing this now. I'm stuck in the first Reality Vortex. I got the 'core' that enables me to pick up the pink shards but I can't get back out of the room and I can't pick up the key because there is no bridge to it. HUH????

There is no key in the first Reality Vortex, you must be in the second one in the lava room. The only way to get the key is to collect all the reality fragments and place the core back in its place.

You can't leave the Vortex unless you look like Ed.

Hi Steve, I went back to 'ED' but still can't leave the vortex. I don't see an exit and I can't leave where I thought I came in. think

There should be an exit portal just a few "blocks" to the right of where you picked up the core. This is really odd as I've never known objects to disappear like this.

Do you have a saved game just before you entered the Vortex?

I went back to the game and found the portal but I just can't get back to Ed before entering it. I have three arrows to work with but when I change back to Ed using the middle one then I have to go through the bottom arrow to get to the portal and that last one changes me back to a sheep again. My last save before that is at the Reactor and going back there is a bummer. Too many mines to pick up and put down while being shot at. I feel lucky to have gotten through there once. Any suggestions?

You have to use all three of the "changers" in order to get Ed back to Ed. If you only use two it doesn't work.

I'm trying to get back to the Reality Vortex to get the key, which I could not reach when there before. I need it to get the white key card. Is there any way to get more life force or whatever you call it? I keep getting blown out by the shooting thingies while going back.

Steve, I have the key from the Reality Vortex, the phone card and the work bench is powered up. Why can't I upgrade the Reality Enabler?

There's a room in the factory with a teleport unit and a locker. The upgrade is in the locker.

Ok, I've made a lot of headway since last post. Now need to get another power cell to make displacer mine. The only ones I see are on the stopped conveyor. The robots have been de-celled, so no more there. I've been everywhere I can go and no power cells that I can get at. None in the store either. Also need one last pink shard for the Reality Vortex in the purple area. Also no where to be found. Any suggestions?

There should be more than enough power cells available. You may need to use a ground mine to destroy one of the robots you didn't take out with the EMP and get that power cell.

It seems like I'm at a Catch-22 here. To get a power cell from the robot I need to modify the ground mine with the displacer which I have. However, without the power cell I cannot make the displacer mine. I think I've reached the end of the line with this game.

Kay, did you go get a mine from the supply place? It's in the same screen as the mansion, I think (memory, memory)

You can use that mine in a room with the robots- I used it in Broadstreets chamber (I think) and it discombumulated those robots. That gave me 3 power cells to use for other things. Eventually, I got another one from the supply and used it on the robots in the village too.

You can only pick up one power cell at a time.

Can you identify everything in your inventory. I was running around stuck when it turned out I have a ground mine in my inventory and just did not realize it blush
