I am in the last part of the game, trying to retrieve the rods for the core and have solved 2 of the puzzles and found the rod used as a slat in a railing BUT.........
I simply cannot do the MEMORY game it moves too fast for me. In January this year Smitty asked about it and Jenny mentioned a thread about this some time back but I cannot find it. Please point me to it - or give me some hope that I will ever solve this one and can 'get on with it'. Would love to see the end of this game. Have enjoyed it very much but I believe it has the hardest puzzles I have encountered yet.
Love, Betty Lou

Betty Lou, I remember a couple of the suggestions from that thread. Witchen's idea was to have someone else watch with you, so that you record the first half of the puzzle and the other person the second half.

I did it myself, in a different way. Since you get three tries, I concentrated the first time on the first three figures, and the second time on the last three (wrote them down after each one). Then the third time I put in the whole thing.

Also, some configurations are easier than others, so that keeping at it for a while may bring up an easy one.

Here I am again with an off the wall solution. I aimed my video camera at the screen, ran the puzzle, and then played it back slow motion. That's the only way I could figure to get that one although I did consider the "consentrate" on each segment idea. If you want the actual solution let me know.

Just wait til you try the "Gold Plates" puzzle ,if you haven't already. It's a doozy. but I have it covered if you need it.

Hi!
O.K. I've finished all but the "9 Balls". and have two questions:

1. Which is the square and which is the diamond? They are right next to each other and I keep getting them confused.

2. A couple of times its given me two things (the triangle and the 1/2 circle) then the rod goes down. (Of course, I mess up then next one and it goes back up.:-)) Then other times when I KNOW I have the sequence right (The vertical line and the circle) nothing happens. I repush the buttons, but nothing happens. Is there a time limit? I saw that one person said that you only get three tries, but if I'm getting it right the first time why doesn't the pattern change or something?

I am soooo close to being done - with BIG HELP from you all! :-))

This may or may not be of any help to you but it's the only info I retained on the puzzle relating to the balls and the symbols on them. If you can get past the first two flashes but the third one is too fast for you and you can't do as I did (see my earlier posting) then.....counting the balls from left to right 1 through 8:

their sequence for me was #'s 1, 8, 4, 2, 5, 8, 7.

Oops! I didn't make myself clear.

I can tell the diamond from the square when it flashes on the BIG ball, but I'm not sure which is which on the little balls you're supposed to push. <img border="0" alt="woozy" title="" src="graemlins/woozy.gif" />

Also, if I missed the sequence the first time I would click on the BIG ball to see it again (the sequence doesn't change), but does that "count against me" in some way? It seemed like it did. But then why would it let you see it again if you're supposed to get it right the first time?

Thanks again! laugh

Miss T,
When you look at the balls that you click on, the diamond is actually the square and the square is the diamond. I know this is confusing as it's a perspective thing. The bottom of the ball is where the handle attaches to the ball. You will find the same problem with the vertical and horizontal rectangles.

The puzzle will usually give you three (sometimes only two) chances to see the sequence and then it will reset to another sequence. And no it will not count against you.

Hugs, Cheryl

Hi!
Well, once I figured out the diamond from the square - it was... well, not exactly easy, but it went smoothly.

I found that focusing on the first, second and last symbols the first time, then catching the the ones in the middle the second click worked pretty well for me (it's a receptive fingerspelling "trick"). I made sure I wrote them down each time. then I'd push them in. If I was wrong - I'd click again to see which ones I missed/inverted.

Thanks soooo much to everyone who helped me for all of your suggestions and encouragement!!!

I know where to come the next time I buy a game I'm not smart enough to figure otu on my own. *VBG*

I am SO stuck at this part of the game. I have completed the other two rod puzzles, but this one just isn't working.... It isn't going too fast for me or anything, it is just that when I press the correct sequences, nothing happens..... It usually displays 2-3 symbols at one time, so I then enter them in correctly, and it doesn't do anything at all... I keep pressing the middle circle and all it does is keep repeating the same stuff again...
Can anyone help me??? Please?? I will be really upset being 98% through with a game only to not be able to finish it...... frown

Here's another thing to try - enlist a helper. One person focuses on the first three or four symbols as they cycle, and the other player looks at the last three or four. There is just too much for one set of eyes to take in.

Also, realize that the cycles, though they seem random, repeat after a few times. So choose one of the cycles that you can partially recognize, and stick with that one, passing over the others. You can take notes, and build up the sequence one or two symbols at a time.
