Hi Marian - Is it possible to get a hint/clue/tip to getting coal into the container in the hangar? I believe this would be under Part 2 of Mr. Bill's walkthrough "loading coal and water into the Krystal".

I can move the container on the track and I know there is a crowbar or something that I can hit the bins (I guess they are) with. I also have a folding chute or something in my inventory. I don't know how to actually get any coal though.

Hi oldboard,

Part 2 of Mr. Bill's walkthrough is finished, you can read there the solution to your problem.

I'm now starting to write a walkthrough for this game but that will be in Dutch, it also takes some time to do that.

I like the game but I am not so sure about the controlls, it is sometimes very difficult to get Kate to the wright place.

success with the game

I gave up at the ice breaker puzzle. Impossible without a games controller, I get the feeling the game wasn't meant to be played using keyboard and mouse. frown12

Thats right. Syberia 3 has been made for the consoles and to be played with a gamecontroler. The Pc-version is just a stupid port from the console version with terrible keyboard and mouse controls. Initialy the PC version didn't had mouse control, only keybord control. So they had to bring out several patches to fix this, but they did a lousy job. But if you think that Syberia 3 Pc version is bad, Black Mirror IV for the PC is even worse.

You can trust it to the game developers these days to completely wreck a potential good PC game, to make it almost unplayable with bad controls. But in the meanwhile they have taken our money and we players must beg them for patches. We are essentialy reduced to Beta Testers for the developers, but instead of paying us for testing we must pay them top price for a game that isn't good developed for the PC.....If this gives you the impression that I'm angry.....yes....I'm angry about this

But then again.......luckely there are stil some developers who are making good playable games for the PC, such as Mikael Nygvist who does a wonderful job with his Carol Reed games. I'm looking out for Mikeal's newest Carol Reed game.....

Hi Upsydaisy,

There is a saved game to get past Ice Breakers. Shoulden't be the problem people are making of it. I have gotten past it some 20 times or better and the first couple of days never believed I would ever get it. I give the strategy in the walkthrough.

Game is playing quite well as point and click at the moment. Am working on Getting Rid of Bats at this time for walkthrough. Puts me better then 3/4 s of the way through walkthrough (I think). I have almost finished six plays of game (4 as point and click and 2 before point and click).

Take care,

Mr. Bill

Hi Mr. Bill.....sounds like you are a little anoyed about my comments regarding Syberia 3.I didn't mean to offent anyone, but I have payed good money for this game and it just doesn't feel that I have get a good playable game for my money. Even with point and click I can not find Syberia 3 a good playable game. The fact that many players are asking for a savegame must give anyone the feeling that there is something wrong with the playability of this game.

But perhaps this is different for gameboomer moderators who are also doing walkthroughs. So let me ask you straight up, and I hope you won't be offended....are you playing Syberia 3 with a free review copy from Microïds and therefore are not amused by my remarks? Or is it just that no critisisme is allowed here agains developers, If that is the case I'm out of here because I'm an independant walkthrough writer and wish to stay that way

Al the same ....I wish you al a very good Christmas and a happy new year 2018, with hopefully plenty of good playable PC games.

Hi Louis,

Criticisms about developers and their games are most certainly allowed here. I was not offended by your comments; in fact, many players here feel similarly to the way that you do about Syberia 3. All here are allowed to express their opinions about games and it is good that you expressed yours; please feel free to continue to do so. One thing to keep in mind, though, is that this is a Hints and Help forum, so for expressing opinions about games, it's better to post such observations in our Adventure Games Discussion forum. We had long discussions about Syberia 3 in that forum, the main one of which can be read here.

Mr. Bill can speak for himself, but I hope he won't mind if I say that he most assuredly did not get a review copy from the developers, nor is he a GameBoomers moderator. He is a valued member of the adventure game community and has made great contributions over the years to furthering everyone's enjoyment of adventure games. You can find his website here.

So, to get back on topic: oldbroad, let us know how you get on with the game; and Upsydaisy, as Mr. Bill said, there is a saved game available for the ice breaker puzzle, should you need one. wave12

Thanks ALL for your comments and information!

Mr. Bill, that is perfect as I TRY not to get the full answer if possible. I know it is not always easy to give hints though so, I do at times go direct to a walkthrough. I'm pretty sure I know which bin you are talking about but had no more success there than at any other, BUT, your hint/clue gives me a place to focus more thoroughly and stop wasting too much time in other areas.

Are you using a controller or keyboard/mouse? I am using keyboard/mouse. I look forward to this ice breaker puzzle (NOT)! I'm glad to read you have a strategy for it in the walkthrough in case I need to refer to it.

Marian - I will, as always update you. (I haven't gotten back yet to that other game I'm also playing but will see you there too.)

Hi Marian. Thanx for your answer and I stand corrected about posting it here in this topic. I'm mainly angry about myself of buying Syberia 3 and Black mirror 4 without first getting enough information about those games. I have broken my own strict rule by doing so and I must not blame this on anybody else.
Unfortenaly I have no help to offer Syberia 3 players at this time because I have wiped it from my harddrive. But I wil have to play it again because I must do the screenshots for the Dutch walkthrough that Lion_1251 is working on. wel...you never know, maybe I get to like the game in the end

Sorry to offend you Marinus_Louis, not at all my intension.

I was one who was also very negative at first and like you paid quite a bit of money for a no game ownership DVD. Then I decided that Sokol and his team were taking the blame for bad advice given to them, probably by publishers and the like. I also decided that others were probably getting tired of the complaining. I just want others to enjoy the story and the work of Sokol and his team as I have once I settled down.

I want to be your friend if I can and offer you my help with your walkthrough also.

Take care,

Bill

Oldbroad,

I am using mouse/keyboard. I will give hints anytime you need them. Later you may need to look at some of the screenshots.

Take care,

Bill

Well, I got my coal loaded, filled the water, and made a key. My next project is to open the locks. First I need a break though.

There really is stuff to like in this game and the point and click works alright but the controls are still a pain when trying to work a puzzle.

Thanks!

Hi Mr. Bill. I should probably just look at the walkthrough but maybe you can try to guide me rather than I just see the answer. I made it to the ice breaker puzzle. I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to be doing. I know the Captain said I have to be quick and get to second gear right away after being in third gear. How do I even know if I'm in third gear? I mean, I can shift there but... Where do I start and what about the pull down lever?

Is it really just a speed thing or is it more about the right order? If it's speed, I'm probably in trouble.

I don't really want the whole answer but I don't really understand how the puzzle works.

Thanks!

Hello again,

This one is a stinker and there are as many theories as there are walkthrough writers.

Click to reveal..
I believe there is a rhythm involved, that each gear needs to be activated (let mouse button out), make sure needle does not get too high (remember to release the mouse button after shifting down to see where needle stops) You can go back to one or two to lower the needle read1ng if it is getting too high. When you think the needle is low enough to give you a chance to go from 2 to 3 and back to 2 - go for it and wait and see if the video starts with ice breakers working. By going up and down like this to control the needle position, you could maybe drag this out over a minute or less.

Cheers,

Bill

Thanks Mr. Bill. I'm not looking behind the spoiler just yet. I was tired last night when I was playing so I want to give it another go first before I see too much.

I'll let you know later.

I gave my strategy in the spoiler. I did not walk you through it in the spoiler. I believe that what the Captain says is being taken too literally.

Good luck!

Okay, good. I was afraid to look. Still haven't and still haven't got back to the game yet either. Good to know your thought about what the Captain is saying.

Yea, I don't think I'll be able to get it. I looked at your strategy but I don't know how to shift gears or if/when to pull that handle down or what. I'm going to take a look at the walkthrough to see if that helps.

Edit: Got it! I was not using the pull down handle thing correctly, nor controlling the gauge right either. Not too bad at all with your instructions. praise12

It intimidated me at first and that very first day I tried 20 to 40 times and the next day got it.

Click to reveal..
Try this: This sounds so complicated in words, I know, but learn the procedure and rhythm
1. Pull lever down in front
2. Shift to gear 1 (left click on the gear handle on the left, hold mouse button down and move mouse to the right and up (away from you) into slot 1. Let go of button and look at needle.
3. From here the move is into slot 2 (straight back from slot 1 into slot 2) let go of button and check needle. If going to high, go back to slot 1 and let go of button - check needle
4. When you are in Slot 2 and needle is fairly low try to get into slot 3, let go of button then left click on it again, hold button down and drag back to 2, let go of button before needle gets too high

Maybe watching a video.

Take care,

Bill

I'm certainly glad the walkthrough instructions work. I was scratching my head and worrying about whether my so called strategy would work or be understood.

Thank you,

Bill

Me also.I got it done with a mouse and keyboard after taking a break and seeing how others said it should be done on Steam.
