What a cute, cute game. I want to know more about the creative people who made this game. I have to admit that I'm not that far in but the claymation is fascinating and I love the puzzle theme of it. So glad that I found this one.

Need to ask though, do I need to read the entire "wall room"? Thanks

Well as with all long journeys, sometimes there is something to be gained to taking the long long long - (coffee break) long long trek.

You can just advance it frame by frame. I have done it both ways and the wall read is basically the history of all things Neverhood. I recall someone had an actual print out of the entire treatise, but I can't recall where I found it.

Ahhh what a great game. smile

I actually read a lot of it and walked all the way to the end, picked up the tablet and looked out the window. That's where I'm standing now but wondered if I'd missed something by not reading all of it.

It's funny but I imagined that there would probably be a complete printout of this somewhere. Gamers are a hardy lot, haha.

Holy writer's cramp Namma, that will either put someone to sleep or pique their interest. There's no inbetween smile

Ramona, go here to see a review by our very own Becky HERE It seems to be a "claymation" graphics puzzle game. Very unusual and interesting...for me at least.

Hello !

I also like Klaymen and the amazing wink adventures from The Neverhood very much.

For some time ago I have collected and made some screenshots from the game and you can see them on these pages:

Neverhood screenshots

Neverhood screenshots 2

Making of The Neverhood

Neverhood web sites

My favorite scene in The Neverhood was when Kleymen walked many minutes under a wall in a sort of cave, just to solve a puzzle or to look out a window.

At this part of the game my mouse was froozen at the right part of my monitor and then it goes:

click and click click and click click and click and.... wink

and walk and walk and walk and walk and walk and walk.... wink

Did you remember that music song out the radio?

Uhhhhh and ahhh, that was phantastic!

Friendly Greetings from

Moe Perry

That hallway is over 40 screens long. Luckily I was able to read the whole thing from my book, The Neverhood Inside Moves. Here's what the book says about reading the preamble:

"Do yourself a favor and pay a friend or family member with no life to take the trip for you."

A really great game! You an play it successfully without reading ANY of the writing on the wall if you're in a hurry.
I've played it twice, and now I've listed it for sale on the GB trading post forum. Just let me know if you're interested!

Moe, those are cool pages smile

Drat! I couldn't find a family member with no life...turns out it was me lol

My favorite part is when the green monster thingy is coming at Klaymen and Klaymen keeps running into the door while trying to get away.

I played the Neverhood a while ago (yes I jumped into the hole, yes i forgot to save first <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="tongue.gif" /> ) and I found out a double-speed code after going through the hall, wish i had found it before; anyway:

---
Speed Up Game
To speed up the game, press ENTER, then type:
FASTFORWARD
Hit ENTER again and the game will go faster.

To turn it off, do the same thing and it will return to normal speed.
---

Is the double speed code inside the game? Is it something I could find on my own?

Hey Johnboy, you don't like whimsical, weird claymation worlds? Mail boxes at the bottom of the universe? Carbonated berries? Specks that spit?

Okay, from a purely objective standpoint the puzzles were not as compellingly wacky as the gameworld. Still, there's nothing else out there that's like the Neverhood.

Of curse I jumped too. LOL <img border="0" title="" alt="[Razz]" src="tongue.gif" />

They funniest part was that when Klaymans kept saying Bobobobobby my husband whose name is Bob thought that I was calling him. I had to put on the earphones to give him a little rest. laugh

Holy macaroni! I just got going, and I found that green monster....well after the tree and the belching, I already had the giggles and once I found that monster, I went into all out hysterical laughter! How fun this game is!I hope it stays like this, if it does, it's gonna be in my top games for the twisty list!

BTW, did anyone else notice that if you let Klayman sit still too long that he does something very very funny? He pulls his head off and has a conversation...of sorts...with his other hand! thumbsup

Neverhood has become a cult classic, and it's a love it or hate it affair smile .

I love it, probably one of my favorite quirky adventures of all time smile . The game was designed by Doug TenNapel, creator of Earthworm Jim and the set was sculpted from around 2 tons of clay. The soundtrack was performed by Terry. S. Taylor.

The Weasel Chase cene is probably my favorite cutscene in the game. It's just such a dang charming game though, that you can't help but like it smile .

And supposedly, boxed copies of the game can go on ebay for $150 US and up.

Stay Cool,
Branden

I always play this with my son and I always jump in that hole. But he makes me do it! It's his fault! It's never my idea! rolleyes

Playing this one is just not complete without doing all the little quirks. One of my favorites is to make Kayman dance in the room with the dynamite. Yhe music is perfect in there for a little jig.

Must be something in the air... I began playing Neverhood again today. Got it when it first came out and played happily, but didn't finish... can't for the life of me remember why. Reached for it because I'd just finished my last two Nancy Drews. Neverhood is 'just the ticket' until DarkFall II, Sherlock Holmes..Silver Earring, ND Shadow Ranch, and...and...and... come out!

Just got a package in the mail from the GB Store/Cafe Press: My Gameboomers mug, a BAAGS tile coaster to set it on, and a Gameboomers carryall (messenger bag).

Hey Marticus...NOW I see the fastforward instructions! I just finished this game. Very cool. I think that my favorite part was the "bear retrieval unit" scene. I never could get Klaymen to dance by the dynamite man.

Thanks to everyone for sharing this game with my while I played.

Burpee -- there's a short "making of the Neverhood" sequence on the disk. It's been a long time since I watached it, so I'm not sure how to access it. Maybe if you poke around in the main menu?

Argh! I'm too quick Becky, the game is already off my hard drive. I'm really struggling with whether I should sell this one of not. I think it has a lot of replayability in it. It's just that I'm trying to get rid of most all of my games and I had soooo many smile What to do?

Floridagal, I played it on my W98 and did not try it on the XP. I may try it on XP tomorrow to see if it works or not.

Becky, I am spending so much time making graphic designs with Bryce that I finally realized that I was never going to replay some of them again no matter how much I liked them. I have sold some games that I REALLY liked and was actually thinking of selling Zork GI but I hit myself aside the head and came to my senses smile

Becky~ Hey, you brought up something that shouldn't be missed by anyone playing Neverhood. Way to go! It's easy to view... just go to the Options screen by pressing your ESC key, then press 'About'. Glad I went poking around and found it. Great insight into how much goes into putting a game together. And what a group of characters !

Granny, I didn't jump into the Hole, only because I read the warnings HERE first... but I admit, if I had NOT heeded the GameBoomer warnings, I'd probably have jumped.

Burpee, You were at the Big Cannon a few days back, (and so very close to the Hole). You must have found it by now. Did you jump or heed the signs?

Haha Carrie, I read the same warnings so I bypassed it. THEN, on the way back past it I thought "what the heck", saved my game and jumped in. Too funny...I love the guys that made this game. I'm going to have try installing on XP and see if I can access that "about" button smile

Burpee -- I have a theory as to the chugging cherry soda episode in the About section. I think it was a friendly competition among the developers to produce a certain sound. Curious to know if you agree.
