I keep a fairly high percentage, only disposing of games I found unplayable or unlikeable.

Interested in whether people tend to collect the games or trade on.

Hello Karen,

I'm getting married on Saturday so don't think I'll be allowed out so soon!

How's the Megapoints game going?

Kind regards, Peter.

In answer to your question, I have kept all (probably around 50-60) except for Rhem and Cracking the Conspiracy. HATED those! I can't seem to part the others but I am getting to the point I need to.

Hi Peter - gosh I'd forgotten it was that soon!! Love and best wishes to both of you.

In answer to your question, the megapoints programming is finished, now being playtested.

Good topic! lol , that is about 32% of games that I've kept.

Now, if I can only find the time to play the 99 games on my "unplayed game" list!

Congrats on your upcoming wedding, Peter!! devil

Congratulations on the upcoming grand event luck

I just started gaming and plan to keep the ones I liked/enjoyed and trade away the rest---I tend to be a collector----after all, I never know when I mihgt want to replay it--- blush )

Congrats!!! smile

As for your questions, I tend to keep any games that I finished and felt that I sorta liked... but given very limited shelving, I'm trying to get rid of them... that and I realise I barely have time to play new games, let alone replay old ones frown

I've been going through my GTZ collection's list almost on a daily basis trying to decide which ones I want to keep and which ones to make available for trade frown

Each game that parts with me makes me wince...

Dawn your 32% makes my "fairly high percentage" feel rather vague!

Shelving is a limitation for what I can keep too - and may become more of a limitation in the days that lie ahead!

I keep all of my games. I've got between70 and 80. Started to make a database for all my games, put down when I played them and other pertinent information. Along with like/dislike.

I currently have 141 games (about 95 are adventures). I traded one because it wasn't a Mac game, and I've given away 4 or 5 duplicates I've acquired. Otherwise, I like holding onto my games. I have a wall unit with 24 CD drawers, and most of my games are in there. The boxes are broken down and put into files with notes, receipts, hints, etc.

Best wishes, Peter!

I have kept almost all of my games I have played since I started back in Nov 89,even some of those that have missing, broken or corrupted disks.I have shelves and closets full of games. Some game boxes I have had to throw away, keeping the disks, to make space.

I've played 134 games and have kept 49 of them so this is 36%. Even if I don't think I will replay the game I keep it if I really enjoyed it. Otherwise I trade it for something else. I also realized that I own 215 games that I haven't played. So maybe a better question is what percentage of games that you own have you played?

Gosh - please do NOT make that an official question... if you make me work it out, I'm sure it'll make me (and some people) feel very guilty.

Of course, it could be the first step in curing the BAAGS...

I would say about 80% I keep and collect with boxes, some boxes I folded, some games never been opened yet,I have two boxes full of games, all my shelves are full, some I will trade, some I have trade reasons they didn't work on my computer, so couldn't say whether I like it or not, probably traded some good ones, but will never know...

But it's getting to the point, that there will be no more room to store all these games, and have to start selling, or trade, mostly more selling, I want to get rid of some not add more...

All told, I've bought 147 games over the past 4 years. I've sold or traded 19 of them - so about 13%. The ones I've got rid of are ones that are easy to find (such as the Nancy Drew games) or games I will never play again.

100% - if I have them I keep them. Even the bad ones. I have some duplicates - a few by accident others for possible trades down the road.

As for how many games - well I have a 1/4 of a ton plus wink

I have close to 150 games all adventures and have not traded away or intend to, just intend to keep adding to the collection. I've loaned games out but but never gotten rid of any except where I had a duplicate then I traded those away.

I have over 500 games... The only reason I am keeping the adventure games that I have is because I haven't gotten around to playing them yet. (and I probably never will get around to all of them)... but I gotta BAAG them anyways... Once I finish playing a game, I usually trade/sell it.

Well you're certainly not alone there. I don't think I've played half of what I own. And I still replay things.

Well, I keep the games that I intend to replay. All my other games that I'm keeping are on my GTZ list and I use them to trade for other games.

Peter, a hearty congratulations from a fellow Mac user in Texas!
As to your question, I keep a very small percentage of the games that I play on my PC but I do keep more of the games I play on my Mac. I use my selling of finished games to help finance my purchases of new games. thumbsup

I can't bear to part with them now, though I used to. I'm busy collecting & loaning them (or if I didn't care for them, giving them) to the kids or friends when I finish them. smile

You all make me feel very guiltless because I can baag away before I catch up to you. I only have about 30, but they increase almost every week. Several of them are still unplayed.

I'm running out of room & will have to start folding the boxes soon, but usually keep everything that came with them.

I'm with you, Glynn. Let the heirs play with my toys. lol

I usually keep the games I like, especially if someone else here might want to play or replay them sometime. Sometimes we play games as a family. On those occasions we know right away if its one to share or save. & Sometimes we send one to a friend we think might enjoy a game as much or more than we did. But most stay right here smile

This is easy.
I keep them all and replay most of them.
Heck I even have old Atari, Nintendo, Intellevision and Tandy stuff.

I keep all of my games. Must have 150-200 games. Some of the old ones were never finished, because there were no walkthroughs for them. Now with the internet I've been able to get walkthroughs for nearly all of them, so I do go back & play the old ones.

I keep them all. Though I'm afraid the game boxes are going to have to go soon in order to make room for my children.

I keep 'em all. I used to trade away the one's I didn't like, but as my BAAGS syndrom has gotten worse, I now horde everything! I don't like to store them away, I like to display them on my bookshelves. So I've got all the shelves full, and now I'm just stacking them on the floor in front of the book shelf until I can get out to buy me another shelf.

It's funny - I'll have friends over to visit, they'll see the bookshelves full of video games, and they'll go up and take a look. And they NEVER recognize any of the games. Why? Because they don't play Adventures. They play all that other stuff.

BTW, Peter, CONGRATS!!

I keep everything. I have written so many walkthroughs, that people e-mail me personally with various requests for help; and the ol' memory can't do it all.

I keep all of my adventure games*.. I give the occasional, accidential purchases of action games to charity.. I do not know how many games I have, drawers and drawers full.. I do not keep cardboard boxes, however.. My house is too small for that...

*(although "Quiet Weekend in Capri" and "Forever Worlds" are making me think I may get rid of an occasional adventure game as well)

Come here, Tad.........

Maybe like 98%. Since Myst I have been collecting and saving because they are all like favorite books and movies I want to experience again and again. Now have stacks of games shelved on the walls of my computer room. Finally got an older second computer up and running so I can now get back to the many games collecting dust (like Obsidian, one of my top 3 favorites) since getting XP with my latest computer. The only games I can remember giving away are the first Prince of Persia and The Day of The Tentacles. Not my cup of tea at all. wave
