Hi danyboy!

Wondered when you would catch-up to us on this thread. Are you having the same problem finding your way around that I am ??

Welcome Home!! laugh

Hi Milee, danyboy and katsmom, and a belated welcome! It's great to have you here with us.
wave
Katsmom, I have an integrated Intel Graphics chip (never again), 64 MB SDRAM, but I didn't have any problem at all with Post Mortem. It wasn't one of my favorites, but it did have some different sort of puzzles to play, and there were different paths to follow to get to the end, which I did like. As I like the character interaction games as opposed to what I call the "lonely" games, I liked it best of what you had to play next.

to all the new members!

Katsmom (or anyone else), Schism dvd is available through Amazon. You can get for as low as $14 + shipping, or brand new for $20. If you order $25 worth of games from Amazon the shipping is free. Amazon can be a little slow, but I have never had a problem with my orders.

Milee and friends, I'm a little late getting down to this forum (it's been that sort of day! welcome to GameBoomers to all of you!!!

Milee, I don't think anyone ever answered you about those left- and right-facing arrows--they enable you to move from thread to thread without having to go back to the forum index every time. When you put your cursor on one, a little box will come up telling you whether it will take you to a newer or older thread...

Hi Katsmom and Milee. Ever since the TAC forum closed I've been wondering where you were. Hawka finally set me straight. I contacted her over on the Mystery Manor site and she reminded me of Gameboomers. She said that this was the best place to go for game help. And I'm glad to find you again.

I checked on the HerInteractive site to see if any of the Nancy Drew kids we knew were there. Didn't recognize a single name. I hope they made it ok.

Mind if I draw up a chair and set awhile? I need a place like this to go to since Tac closed.

Hello to all my fellow TAC refugees and everyone here at GameBoomers! Right now I feel a little lost, as I'm sure the rest of the TACers who were suddenly evicted do too. frown It's good to see some familiar names around! I also found alot of people over at Mystery Manor. I hope to get to know everyone here!

dannyboy,

No I didn't have a clue that TAC was closing. Strangely enough (looking back), I had started up a friendly dialog with one of the TAC staff when I asked for help on a order. We sent PMs back and forth, it was real nice. Then suddenly I never heard another word. It was the same weekend that "Aura" and "Missing" were mailed out. Could be a coincidence, but don't really think so. In my heart, I believe that at least "some" of the staff were also taken by surprise. Lay-offs don't require much notice. I'm guessing of course, but bet it's pretty close to the mark. We may never know for sure.

I joined-up over here because of unbiased information available on ALL adventure games, regardless of the publisher. Never dreamed it would become a new home. I'm happy here, just very NEW.

I'm having surgery on monday so will be out of the loop for awhile. I'll be back, even if I have to learn to type with my toes lol !!

Later!

Hi Melia & unlaura!

Welcome! It's old home week over here! People are coming in droves. Bet Gameboomers didn't plan on this much of a influx.

Happy Gaming Everyone!

Hello guys! I'm registered at Mystery Manor, too, and doubt I'll be at either much but it's nice to know where to go to find everyone.

I'm very sad to return from my week hiatus to find that TAC closed down without a word to its loyal (though at times critical) members and fans.

Oh well.... A new day dawns.

Hello to all my TAC friends
Nice to see some familiar faces

I have seen a couple of the ND kids at herinteractive. I think that they were a prety tight group and probably exchanged e-mails

Thank you GB for having spell check think

Thank you for letting me know, nickie! So Post Mortem should play using my Intel chipset...

I also prefer the character interaction games, over the "lonely" games (great term for it!). I love to TALK, so I guess that makes sense. laugh

Post Mortem - forget it on an onboard chipset - it loaded fine - opening movie played fine but once the game started the characters moved soooooooooo slow it was pathetic ('course as jerky as they moved that might be an improvement) lol I'm going to see if I can put more RAM to the video card and see if that helps but so far it's a no go.

You have a bunch of great games on their way Katsmom. I loved Sanitarium. That game will probably be more of a problem with XP than the type of card since it's an older game. I haven't tried to run it on XP yet. I thought the first Drac game was terrific - I had to throw my body over the monitor at one part when my son came in the computer room, however (those that played the game know what I'm talking about) wink I also loved Riddle of the Sphinx and to a lesser extent The Omega Stone and I loved Dark Fall.

As to Riven and Exile - both are beautiful games, espceially Exile - they're just not my personal favorites. I haven't played the two Law & Orders nor the two CSI's - I really need to - love the tv shows. Maybe when I'm done with Outcast I'll start them since I really, really need to widdle down my unplayed stack - it's starting to get embarrassing blush
Hi again, syd. I've already played Sanitarium on my XP, and had terrible trouble. We had a long thread going about Sanitarium, on the TAC board. I posted about my endless game crashes while playing, and my creative 'tweaking' attempts that did no good, whatsoever! frown Inferno, I just realized that you're a member of GB. I tried to use your set-up for Sanitarium, but it didn't make any difference. My game crashed and crashed and crashed... well, you get the idea.

I really must believe that the problem I had was with the Intel integrated chipset and/or the driver -- which has recently been updated numerous times. I believe this because other members posted that they had no problem playing Sanitarium on their XPs with a 'real' video card.

I enjoyed ROTS and TOS, but my favorite games are the ones with human contact in them. I did love Sanitarium, despite my serious technical problems while playing it.

Syd, you mention a certain spot in Dracula: Resurrection (which I haven't yet played), where you couldn't allow your son to look. Do you (or anyone) remember a similar situation in DARK FALL? I was stunned by the unexpected and completely gratuitous PHOTOS in George's desk. It ruins what IMO would otherwise be a great adventure game for kids. And speaking of Dark Fall -- when the TAC lights went out, I'd just posted to ask if there were TWO versions of that game released? Because in MY version, I never got killed off -- not even in front of IT, when I made a mistake doing the 'trials'... Someone else posted that she HAD been killed off, while playing Dark Fall.

As for SCHIZM, well... it didn't sound like my favorite kind of game, so that ALSO keeps it at the bottom of the pile.

I didn't post which games I have coming in the mail yet; will save that for later! wink
