it calls for 1 teaspoon of curry powder, i look it up on line and it is hot can i leave it out. paula deen's recipe.

Not all curry powder is hot, BUT it is a taste that some people do not like. I like curry myself.

I'm quite sure you can leave it out of the recipe though.

thank you very much, i am suppose to put it in a 11x7 casserole dish, here are the ingredients, 2 packages broccoli, 6 cups chicken,2 can cream of mushroom soup, 1 cup mayo, 1cup sour cream, 1 cup cheddar cheese, 1 tablespoon lemon juice, 1/2 cup dry white wine, 1/2 grated parmesan cheese, 1/2 cup breadcrumbs, 2 tablespoon melt butter, salt and pepper to tastes, all i have big enough is a 3qt casserole dish, will that do.

As old broad said, not all curry powder is hot. It's actually a blend of spices, so depends on the particular blend. It does add a distinctive taste to chicken divan. No reason you can't leave it out if you don't want to bother looking for a mild blend.

As long as everything fits in the pan, you're good to go. I THINK the 3 quart is bigger than a 11x7 so the cooking time may be a bit shorter. I'm not sure though.
